Default Boyfriend of 5 months, low sex drive?

hi, ive been dating my boyfriend for about 5 months. Hes very affectionate and attentive. Hes always kissing me and hugging me, touching my leg and holding my hand. He spends the night a few times a week. Our relationship is pretty perfect except in one area, sex. We have had sex a few times. Hes explained to me that he had some bad sexual experiences in the past but always tells me im different. He constantly tells me how much he likes me and wants to be with me. Everytime i try to initiate anything sexual he says hes tired or has to go. I dont understand it. He says it wont always be like this, but i wonder if im wasting my time. I dont want to break up with him over this. I care about him a lot. I just want to understand, and im wondering if theres anything i can do.

beachgirl, your man sounds like he really cares about you. Has he provided any information regarding some of his bad sexual experiences?

Based on how he is measuring his physical actions, it is quite likely the answer lies here. It's possible that he has a confidence issue regarding one or more of those prior encounters. Perhaps something even quite personally embarrassing or disturbing so as to bother him to this very day.

You might want to review what led up to the nights where you both were intimate. There might be a "recipe" there for success that could shed light on how to help him get past what seems to be blocking him. Sounds like this may be a slow, delicate process from here.
