Default More to the story....

So, I found out that there is no blowing off going on... I'd like to say I'm relieved but it gets worse...

So, the boy just found out that his mom has breast cancer. He has dealt with numerous other issues with his parents. One the one hand, I am glad he feels comfortable enough to share this with me, but I am also still getting to know him and am not sure what to say.

I know that he needs some time to just kinda process everything and take a little space, but I feel SOOO bad for him. I am also still trying to feel him out a bit to see whether he wants to talk, wants to be distracted, etc. I know sometimes when things like this happen, you think about it enough and just want to be able to get away.

Idk, I just feel horrible for him. Now I'm just hoping that it ends up being stage 1 and caught very very early at least. We find out that this week.

Just be there, be supportive.

Thanks, WC. I guess I just feel bad because 1) I thought he was trying to blow me off and then 2) this happened. I mean, it's not like it's my fault or anything. He's just been through so much. I wish I could do more.

All you can say at this point is that you're there for him. That way he knows you care and that he has your support, but then at the same time you're also not being pushy.
