I'm glad you're going to stop footing the bill for his shopping, as he seems to have discovered that you paying his way has left him with enough cash to sqaunder on silly things. Of course, we all need to let loose once in a while (and yes, that can cost money), but there is a limit, especially when you're in debt to your SO. I think he is starting to take advantage of your financial help - so stop helping. And tell him why... he seems to have come into some sort of money if he can spend hundreds on fun trips, tickets, and other recreation, so he obviously doesn't need you to pay his bills anymore.
As for sitting at home watching tv every saturday night, yeah, that gets old - QUICK! At least it would for me.. Just ask that you two do something different next weekend, something that doesn't involve being a couch potato. You don't have to sound spoiled.. especially if you suggest activities that cost very little money, or are even free. Any free festivals going on in your area? How about a picnic in the park, followed by star gazing? Nature walk? Heading to the mall and just window shopping? None of these things cost money, other than maybe the gas to get there...
Most of the shadows of this life are caused by our standing in our own sunshine.
