I was in the same position and it took 2 1/2 years for me to get the message. I know your situation may be different, but this is just food for thought.
Yeah. I'm in that "waiting" game right now... Sucks. I'm not sure how long I'm supposed to wait until he figures out what he wants... It's been almost 3 years now. Super frustrating. And i feel like I'm pulling teeth with him when I mention the future. Great signs, I know...
Holetoledo, since you're not even ready right now, I wouldn't worry about it too much, but when you are ready, gently let him know so you can see if he is really serious about you too.

Haha! My boyfriend is like that too...he thinks one day at a time...and the farthest he can think of is probably a month or two in advanced! It drives me crazy sometimes because I'm a huge planner that plans wayyyyyy far ahead! Like three years...but you know...so much happens between that period that your plans you made doesn't even matter anymore. It gives my boyfriend a headache thinking about issues that won't happen in a very long time and to him it doesn't matter because like I said...so much can change within that time period.

I'm learning this... gradually. Thank you for your input!
