It's a small world!!!!!

I have just started to see this great guy... we have fun together, we laugh, we have heaps in common, we feel a fantastic connection and we are very attracted to each other.... but I think I've discovered a problem... I think he might be living with a guy I dated - and had sex with 2-3 times - earlier this year.

I have made up my mind that I do have to tell him before things get too serious - and to be honest and to avoid any awkward situations - but should I tell him on the phone, in person... What do I do? How do I bring it up?? - Bareing in mind that I'm not sure yet that this is the case - theres just too many coincidences though!! Please help me, I could really do with some advice on how to handle this!!!!

Can you ask him if his roommate's name is _______ (insert name of your ex-by here)? That takes away any guessing, either it is him or it isn't and you can go from there.

If he is living with your ex, I would explain to him that you dated previously, but don't mention the sex since that's really none of the new guy's business anyway. I'd also talk in person, over the phone or text or whatever is too impersonal, can make miscommunications easier, and can make it look like you're hiding behind technology. Your new guy should understand you've got a dating past, just like he does, and it's just an odd coincidence that one of your past boyfriends is his roommate. That's life, it's weird, but it happens!

Is there any link with your other posts regarding your HIV anxiety ?
Is it the same guy or another ? then I am having problems connecting the dots...

Have you done any check since January ?

My recent worries with HIV were with two different guys - neither of them being my HIV positive ex - I don't know their statuses. The situation with my ex - who I havent been with for 2 1/2 years - made me wary, but also anxious about contracting HIV.

With Forums, it's actually the right thing to do, to read all the threads that a poster makes, so they get a better picture to help further, don't worry that, that thread was "linked".. I think Maximus was worried for you, that this "flatmate" was the one related to that thread, hense should you tell this new guy or not and how? I would have asked the same question.

Bring into the conversation more questions in a round about way that can confirm your thoughts on the room mate or dismiss them, in my opinion at this stage you don't have to disclose any personal information regarding who you have slept with.....
