Nice guy you met online suddenly starts behaving badly and tells you a girl kissed him. Why would he say something stupid like that (I guess to make you jealous, not that I see the point) and how to best deal with this? I think he does not deserve any of your attention and should be discarded. Am I being too harsh?

Although it would be good to get out now, before more time is invested, he may have been trying to be honest because he really does like you. If you've never met him in person...i'd ditch him.
