When a guy likes you, he will make an effort most times. He will be excited to be around you .. the last thing he'd do is take you out on a date then leave you there while he goes in another room, not for just a minute call - but for a 20 minute call with a chick he "feels a connection to". Oh hun, don't let yourself get any further entertwined in his BS. It sounds like you have already become a 'convienence chick' in his feeble brain. Like oh, the other girl is 2 hours a way, I will ask this one to go.

Some guys are shy, and you might get a mixed signal when they truly do like you... but when they ditch on you to talk to another girl they like... you can't get more red flag than that. You deserve to be the one some guy is standing in a corner ignoring everyone else to talk to... not the one sitting there tapping your foot waiting for him to come back from doing that for someone else.

Don't sell yourself short. Definitely do not text him. If he really does like you, if he really has decided to put that girl out of the picture... he will pursue contact with you and even then you shouldn't behave over eager... he's given you every reason to second guess how he feels about you.
