I need the men of WH to help me. AND the women too...help!

So, Im in my first adult relationship ever...and Valentines day is coming up...REALLY quick. And I heard my man talking to his brother on the phone about this huge Valentines day thing he had planned for me (I didnt hear details...booo).

Im all excited for this Valentines day and such, but my issue is WHAT DO I GET THE GUY?!?! Everything he wants is totally out of my price range. He was showing me guitars he wants for "a special occasion" ( If I can't justify spending 2 grand on shoes, I cannot justify it on a guitar), so I can only imagine he wants something big for V-day as well? Or am I pegging this guy wrong?

Do I do the cheesy thing? Do you guys like that?!

either way...I sort of suck at this type of stuff. I desperately need ideas.

Don't go out of your price range to get him something he wants. If you're man is as great as you say, he'll understand that anything you give him is from the heart, and therefore the pricetag doesn't matter - not even a little bit. If he's doing something big for you, that's wonderful, but I'm sure he's doing it knowing that you won't be reciprocating with anything quite as grandiose.

So what does he enjoy that doesn't cost much? Does he have a favorite dinner that you can make him (thinking something romantic, candlelight, music, the whole bit)? A favorite dessert? Are you "crafty" and can make him something DIY. You mentioned he likes guitars - what if you made him a kickarse guitar strap or something like that. Or get the music sheets for his favorite song and make him paper roses, or use it for a shadowbox backdrop with a picture of the 2 of you and few other trinkets that mean something to the two of you.

And don't forget the gifts you can give him in the bedroom as well..

hahaha. I WAS going to do the whole romantic dinner thing, followed by some lingerie i picked up...but we do that almost every night...how do I make paper roses? thats a really cool idea!!

Paper roses can be easy or they can be a little more intricate, just depends on your level of patience and skill lol! Some you cut each individual petal and stick them together that way, others are more of a long strip of paper rolled together. There are a few tutorials if you do a search in google, otherwise I have a couple tutorial links I will PM you.

Another idea is to make up a book, so to speak.. kind of like a scrap book where each page says "I love you because..." and then your reason with the page decorated to reflect what you said.

I think guys really like that stuff! It might be considered a bit "mushy" but they really appreciate the thought and effort put into these things, and they'll keep the homemade gifts forever, well at least my fiance does...

Yeah...hes a cheeseball like that too. Im going to do the paper roses, and a "get out of doghouse free" card...just in case.

i think the issue at hand is that I want to impress him so much. The guy is everything to me. I mean, he even cleaned my fishtank, and its a big fishtank that takes a while to clean properly.

Okay...so Ill make his favorite supper, paper roses, and a romp in the sack. Perfection lol

You're so right - that's absolute perfection! Let me know how it goes with those roses, and don't forget to chime in after you've given him his Valentines Day gift, letting us know how freakin' AWESOME he thought your present was!
