Let's take equality into the equation....

    Male/Female...

What would be your ideal first date?

    Thumbs up

My favourite restaurant, hot summer in the evening, in my nice summer dress with him in his semi-formal outfit (eg: Jeans with a T-shirt), no kissing afterwards (if there's a kiss it should be on the chick). He comes and picks me up & takes me home afterwards,
no fights with the waiter or waiters, they just serve us well.

Guy - Scuba diving, skiing, going to one of those kids worlds with slides and ball pits - something fun and physical, where you got to know someone for how they react to life, rather than what smalltalk they can make over a dinner table (although dinner would be involved).

So yeah, something fun that maybe puts both of you outside your comfort zones.
Some serious making out too, maybe leave the sex for tomorrow...

    Some ideas:

Flight-seeing tour over them mountains, then dinner at an interesting ethnic resteraunt.

Drive to Yosemite, hike for the day, dinner at the MRB in the park, then back late at night.

Rent a sail boat on the bay for a couple of hours. Then dinner at one of the interesting resteraunts.

Go to the city to see Fleet Week, or the Gay Pride Parade, or whatever happens to be going on that weekend. Walk up to the tower to look out over the bay area. Maybe rent a paddle boat in the park.

    For a later date:
Rome, Paris, Tokyo, Swiss Alps, Venice, Bora-Bora whatever she has mentioned on the first date is the place she would most like to see.

    Mmmmm....

For me, "equality", i organised a Limo had it drive past us "just", first then champagne, tour of the beach and dropped of to an old township, at a restaurant.

Well.... Next time, it's the next guys turn...

    Equality finished for 2008

    haha

I'm not really a conventional dating person. I mean dont get me wrong i like dinner and movies and all that but for me i like the first date to be exciting and adventurous, something to remember. I find that sitting at a restaurant puts alot of pressure on conversation and properness. and if you go to the movies then you dont really talk at all.
I dont really have an ideal first date, cause i like spontaneous things...
But my favourites that i've been taken on were, glow in the dark splatter painting, paint balling, rennaissance festival and bounce house with those giant inflatable castles.
I find that in those situations we got to know each other better because when we did go get something to eat we had more to talk about because we'd let loose and just been ourselves.
