Neuro symptoms, anxiety in menopause

Is anyone else but me having these symptoms?
I am 50 and last period was about a year ago, around that time I awoke one night in terror and thereafter my nervous system felt "fried". Since then I have had weird dizzy spells and 'zaps', muscle twitching and buzzing in my lower legs, numbness in my fingers, ringing ears, more night terrors, anxiety that doesn't seem like it's me that's creating it, it just seems to 'happen'.
It's so hard to describe what I'm going through, but it's awful. My concentration and cognitive skills feel like I have alzheimers. My mind is racing and is all over the map with things popping into my head, again, it doesn't seem like it's me that creating this, it's just happening.
I am awaiting neuro tests, so not looking for what I should be doing, rather if anyone, anyone is having these same symptoms while going through menopause? Thank you in advance for your response.

Hi everyone, firstly what a great website!! Stumbled across this one while searching for info on menopause.
I'm 39yrs old and was diagnosed as being Menopausal last week after blood tests:(. What a shock!! My hormone levels were through the roof (apparently). My only symptom was erratic bleeding lasting up to 3 weeks then stopping for about 4/5 days and starting over again, this has been going on for the past 6mths. So when I finally had enough and went to the Dr, he did immediate blood tests, pap smear and swabs and sent me for ultrasound to find the cause. I was thinking fibroids or worse, cancer. How wrong I was. Menopause. All tests came back fine except the blood tests. Still have yet to see a Specialist Gyno for plan of treatment.Would be great if they could stop the lengthy periods.
Oh, and I did have weight gain, sore boobs(but they grew a cup size, lol), hot flashes and trouble sleeping, I just didn't realize they were symptoms and fobbed them off. I always thought the start of menopause was when your periods got less and less and further apart, not closer together and bleeding for weeks on end. So I want to know, how long is this going to last???? It's driving me and more so hubby nuts:rolleyes:
Anyway, enough said, I'm looking forward to meeting other forum members in similar predicaments.:)

PMDD-Does it ever go away?

My DD was diagnosed with PMDD at age 17. A little about her symptoms at that time and why we acted: depressed, cried a lot for no real reason, anxiety, periods were coming every other week or so, etc. It was bad enough that her friends and teachers were noticing a very significant change in her. Blood work was done at that time to rule out other causes. She was put on Yaz. It worked miracles for her. She is now 19. Since that time we've discovered she has a minor heart valve issue. Her most recent cardiologist visit indicated no change over the past year (good thing). He was aware she is on Yaz. Gyn is aware of the heart issue. Given recent disclosures about Yaz and heart attacks, I am a bit concerned about her continued use of this pill. It's almost time for her yearly check-up so I'm doing a bit of research.

That concern leads me to a couple of questions. Does PMDD ever go away over time? Has anyone else ever started out with Yaz, switched to a different birth control pill and remained symptom free? Looking back at that "bad time" as we call it, I think it's possible some of the symptoms may have been situational and perhaps she could now change pills. She is also a very happy, successful college student, and none of us want her to have to experience that pain again though.

Thanks for any insight.

my doctor officially diagnosed me with perimenopause earlier this year and started me on birth control pills. some of the symptoms subsided for a while except for when i went on the "reminder" pills. then my emotions went haywire and my brain took a vacation. now, several months later, the symptoms seem to be there regardless. i mentioned it to my dr. and for the first time she looked at me and had no answer. more or less like she didnt know what i was talking about. the biggest problems i'm having right now are with the night sweats, the mood swings, and the concentration and memory. it doesnt help that i also have ADHD. i just wanna know i'm not the only woman out there like this and that i'm not going crazy.

Dryness

My doctor prescribed the medicine VagiFem to me for my dryness. I have 4 more refills on it, but after using it one time, I just don't have the money to pay for it. I don't have any insurance and for half it cost me 72 dollars. That was 12 vaginal pills. Is there anything over the counter that would be even close to this medicine?

Looking forward to an answer
Thanks

Hi I am 46 and though I was tested and found not to be in menopause last year I am convinced that I am perimenopausal. I find that my worst symptoms, ie night sweats and general aches come 7-10 days after my period. Does anyone else find this to be the case for them?
