In a little bit of continuation from the previous rant I had about my step people....I have a short story and antidote about mine step-son.

We recently went on vacation and the step son came here (he has his own apartment) to watch the cat, feed it, and the fish. This was advantageous for him too because he was also closer to his job for a week and we have a big screen TV, etc. Previously, he had occasionally mowed our lawn for cash. Before we left, we asked if he could mow the lawn after we left (two days later) and we'd pay him when we returned. He did not answer yes or no. He sometimes doesn't give a verbal answer. I assumed it was a "yes". My husband now says he "didn't really care" if his son mowed the lawn...he just gave him the option to. My husband always backs his son up in whatever way he can. So, we came back and realized he did not do it. My husband mowed the lawn a week later, today. I was PO'd. His son is soooo lazy. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree sometimes.
He told his son (before we realized he didn't mow the lawn) that we have a souvenier for him. Well, he is biting at the bit to come and get his gift. HA! He wanted to come tonight.
I do appreciate that he cared for that cat, though my cat always seem weird when I return after he "watches" him. <sigh>
Like I said, his son reaped some benefits from it too.

What do you think of this? Would you be annoyed, if you were in my place?
Any suggestion on how to handle this person? ACK!
