we married against our parents wishes. now i m living with my in-laws from last 6yrs.i have two kids.we both r earning good. though being well educated i have so many quarrels with my parent in - laws.my MIL sometimes uses very absurd language which i dont like, due to this my health,my work efficiency all has affected.if i talk about separation my husband got tensed up. what should i do?

6 years is a long time to live with your in-laws, it would be difficult for you to have a proper marriage.

You say that you are educated and you both earn good money, you can not rent somewhere together?

Think carefully before separating unless you are not happy with your husband and marriage in that regard, not from pressure of all of this because maybe if you were in a place of your own you would be able to work through things and be happy.

If your Mother-In-Law uses language you do not like for your children ,you should educate your children that "those words" are not allowed only to Adults and try to get them to see this, so they don't repeat and also have your husband ask nicely if she would please control this, for her grandchildren.

She must care enough to have you all there for 6 years.

Have you investigated costs for renting verses what you are paying her now?
