My father committed suicide.

My aunt died a year later while my other aunt was in the hospital with cancer.

My would be step father passed away (asthma attack - fell off an overpass)

My uncle died from being hit by a car.

My grandmother died.

My ex boyfriend died of a Heroin overdose the following day after I told him I could no longer be anything to him, not even a friend.

My grandfather died.

My other grandfather got very sick and almost passed. Then his wife had to have heart surgery so I took care of the both of them 24/day. I had no life but them.

My mother tried to commit suicide twice.

I almost lost my brother in a boating accident.

I could go on and on. I not only surprise myself but my counselors for still being here and surviving all of this on top of the molestation and rapes. It's just something we have to set out to do. If we want to make it, we will. We're strong even when we feel weak.

I'll keep you in my thoughts.
The xMrs,
I'm so sorry for all your losses. That is a lot for you to go through at such a young age. I feel your pain
Glad to hear that you are a survivor and your story is an inspiration to me.
Thank you for sharing that information. Makes me feel not so alone.
This whole board has been a great help to me over the past few months.

Thanks Linds for telling us all that, we never knew and explains alot only I as one and WC as two and Dr as three, have seen such a strength in you, over time.

Mdraven? Same with you, you changed to photos, you change to talk about things, and you added things into your life into this Forum, outside of all of this.

I'm thinking you too are changing and will continue to do so.

It's things like this that make me proud to be here. Just watching if nothing else.

CW
Thanks CW.
I am changing and finally growing. I finally got my first car! Now I can be independant. I'm reclaiming my life and it feels good. In fact it actually feels like a relief.

I remember when I left my ex-husband, I "changed" cars to something I wanted, previously my car lived on the road, this baby lives in a garage

The feeling was awesome, in-dependant and life got better and better, you watch over the next 12 months madam, I will bet you $100 that when I say, come back to this thread you are going to do that and then say ? WTF? hehe.

x

Congrats on the car!
Holidays alone can be tough, I've had some and they can make you feel very lonely. After my mom died (I was not yet 22 ) all my family was living either out of state or on the other side of the mountains, I divorced a philanderer and I spent a couple Thanksgivings and Solstices alone and was feeling pretty sorry for myself. Then I started to realize that I had to make the change. So I'd invite people over, I love to cook and create my own celebrations. I'm getting back into that again now that I'm back in the city and making more friends after living in the stick for years (part of that car less).

In fact I'm planning to start having a tea party every month. I got some books on teas and want to do something different each time and invite freinds and neighbors just for the fun of it. Losing someone as important as a sister (I'd be lost without mine) is really hard but you know she would want to have a full and happy life, you have to find ways to create warmth and happiness for yourself. (Linds you too Dear)
