Arrow sister-in-law overstepped bounds

i Just Came Back From Seeing My Sister-in-law For The Weekend. My Son Came With Us Along With Our Three Other Kids. We Went Up To See My Husbands Mom Who Is Not Doing Well.my Sil Thinks She Can Do And Say Whatever She Feels. Her 2 Daughters Took My Son For A Walk And Were Gone For A Couple Hours. I Was Tired Of All Her Remarks About All My Kids I Wanted To Leave.i Told My Husband Lets Go. We Had To Wait For My Son To Get Back, but She Was Already Mad That They Werent Back Yet. She Went To Look For Them At The Park They Werent There.i Said I Trust My Son,they Wont Do Anythingthey Just Went For A Walk. She Was Pissed!i Had To Get Out Of There So Iwent To Look For Them And Found Them Walking Home.i Jokingly Told The Girls Your In Trouble You Need To Call Your Mom.they Said No I Dont Want To.i Asked If They Were Afraid They Said Yes. So My Son Took The Blame For Them And Said It Was His Fault They Were Gone So Long.she Looked At My Son And Told Him To Stop And That Her Girls Dont Look Up To Him And That They Can Think For Themselves. And She Didnt Think He Was Anything! I Wanted To Tell Her Off! But I Didnt. I Said Lets Go,she Said Bye To Everyone But My Son.the Girls Told My Son Thank You And That Their Mom Was Wrong. But I Cant Seem To Hold Back My Anger For What She Said,it Was Alittle More Than I Can Write. My Son Knows His Aunt Does'nt Like Him. He Thinks She Is Sad And A Hippocrite! She Always Pushes Her Views On Us And Everyone Around Her. If You Dont Agree Your Wrong. She Tries To Get Information Out Of Me I Try Hard Not To Say To Much So She Cant Talk Behind Our Backs. Or Give Me Her Advice That I Dont Need Or Want. By The Way Her 2 Girls Are 18,and 16 My Son Is 17. I Think A Walk For 2 Hours Was Fine. I Trust My Son We Have A Good Relationship. I Want To Know If I Should Call Her And Tell Her What She Did Was Wrong Mean And Uncalled For . Im Tired Of Her Talking About All Of My Kids. And Until She Changes Her Attitude Me And My Kids Will Not See Her Anymore. My Husband Can Go Alone. Please Help Im Going To Explode!!!!!

i think you are right! But i dont really think you should say something to her. What does your husband say about all of this? And why are her girls so scared to tell the truth, they are freaking 18 and 16 yrs old! its not like they were out in the woods gettin drunk or doing drugs! i think your sister in law has some serious issues, and the only person she may listen to is your husband.

her girls say she makes them practice violin all the time and they cant listen to music only church music. yes they are older but they are afraid to say anything to her. my husband doesnt say much just we dont have to go anymore.and sorry that we all cant be perfect like her. he did say sorry to my son for her actions, but later that night my son broke down and cried that his aunt doesnt like him. thats when i lost it. my husband didnt think it had much to do with her but i can tell it did. my son gets along well with everyone, and tried to smooth things out. i think the whole thing is wrong! my son found out some more things that his aunt thought about him the next day from her girls, they just kept saying sorry to him my son told me, and asked not to tell his dad so the girls wont get in to anymore trouble. i was upset and agreed my husband knows somthing is wrong with me i didnt say anything now he is mad. he thinks its just because of carla yelling at my son. its a mess!!!

Default use humour

Everyone has the Crazy Aunt Dottie, or Mad Uncle Herbet
or nutty cousin Bruce.

Don't take her seriously.
Use humour.
When you talk to your son, make it clear
she's a clown.

People like her give bad messages to kids, they wonder
'what did I do wrong?', and it's no sense in long explanations.
Just make your kid know that your SIL is a nutjob.

your right. its sad when family members make life tougher than it already is for teens. and to choose between siblings is just mean.
