I'm the second child and I'm the only son. My dads been a porn addict since I was 8. I caught him. Didn't know what it was. Showed mommy and she flipped. 5 years of counselling later. My dad has landed a big job and divorced my mom who now has brain damage and PTSD. My sister has gone off to college and refuses to talk to any of us. I live in a 4 floor house with my mom and no one else. She constantly goes to the doctor with something different wrong with her each time. We have 3 shoeboxes full of unused prescription drugs. We have countless prescription bottles just laying all around the house. My mother is unpredictable. One day she's sane, one day she's psycho. I have bite marks from her as well as scars where I grabbed a knife out of her hand on one of her many suicide attempts. I've ridden my bike 27 miles out to a abandoned warehouse were she had tried to overdose but failed, then illegally drove her home.
She has a job, but I do it for her. She does nothing all day and never leaves the house that I can tell.
I move in with my dad in a couple months but idk if either of us can survive that long.

Tell an authority figure. Now. A counselor at school, your neighbors, someone you can trust, someone who will know who to call to help get you out of there sooner, and give your mom the help that she needs.

You can't save her from hurting herself every time, and this is certainly a terrible environment for a young person such as yourself to grow up in.

I've told a superior. That's the only reason why I'm getting to move. I've tried to tell counsellors and the such what's going on. But my mom always manages to stay calm when they run the tests. She is always declared sane. However, if I how them the scars, she calls me a liar then makes up an excuse. And of course, no superior will ever believe the child over the adult. I'm stuck. When the divorce was going on I showed the judge a picture of all the drugs. Where did that get me? Nowhere. Because a picture isn't enough evidence. All that it got me was being grounded for 5 months for "lying to a court official".
Oh and my girlfriend broke up with me today. So I'm even more depressed than usual.

Darn it! I know exactly what you mean when you say adults would rather trust other adults than children. I'll think more on this, and I hope some other forum members could have some suggestions for you.

How old are you now, btw?

Would it be possible for you to videotape her or something when she's doing any of this? Maybe you could call DHS or CPS? I hope you can last until you move out. I know how it is to live with someone so erratic - my sister is bipolar/adhd.
And it is very hard to get an authority figure to believe the child over the adult. *sigh*
    Good luck hun.

    Hi Socks.

In answer to Mes's question, "mid teens" .

I've read your other Thread, did your girlfriend come over a lot at your house? Maybe you'll get back together again, take it one day at a time there...

What about your Grandparents or an Aunty for a few weeks? Are they aware of how you feel? Mostly, they may think your "ok" but your not.

And, if you don't mind me asking, why do you have to wait 2 months before you can live with your Dad?

Sorry for all the questions but it's the only way we may be able to offer some form of advice, opinions, for you.

I live in the appalachians. Highest abuse rate in the US. Me ex girlfriends mom witnessed her fly off the handle. She works for the DSS. She didn't even ask about it. Abuse and fmaily problems have hightolerance here. Unless someone is dead, theey don't really have any concern.
My grandparents are dead. My aunt is a meth addict.

This sounds very complicated. I feel that maybe you should go to your ex's house and tell her Mom that the courts will only believe you if there are witnesses. Inform her of the scars and let her know you are scared for your life. It is OK to be afraid you have every reason to fear. You are braver than you think when you ask for help. I do believe you that it is hard to get someone to believe you, but people do care. Tell your Dad that you are afraid for your life and that you are so scared that she will hurt you in your sleep. Tell him you are afraid that waiting will be too late. I am sure your Mother loves you and is just afraid of being alone, and with her metal disorders she has only one way to show it (granted it may be a messed up way but in her mind she is lost). Have you ever thought about 51/50. Some states, I am not sure if all, have a way that you can send someone to get help by 51/50-ing them. All you need to do is call the police and tell them you think she will hurt herself. I am not sure how this all works but you might want to look into it. Try staying at friends houses, and tell school officials that you are too scared to go home. I think that as long as you express your fears and keep pushing them on people they may get the hint. How old is your oldest sister? Maybe she will help you.

I've asked my ex's mom. There's nothing she can do. I have to wait two months because I can't risk my GPA. I want to be a doctor.

I've been telling adults for 5 years now. I've come to school and knocked myself unconscious on a wall.

Like I said before. I just need someone to talk to, because nothing can actually be DONE about the situation but sit and suffer.
