The pest called a roommate
I know roommates aren't technically family but I wasn't sure where else I could post this. So, we have a roommate, its my fiances friend and I do not like him. It was fine at first for a short period of time but then he just became an all out nuisance. Hes 27, and he showers MAYBE 3 times a month. THREE TIMES and thats generally when we have to tell him too. Hes not brushed his teeth since hes been staying with us, which has been since April/May of this year, his toenails AND fingernails are disgustingly long. He doesn't shave or cut his hair so he looks like an arab or something. Always has to comment on something said and always has to have last word, even if he wasn't in the conversation to start with. Am I wrong to hate this guy? Cause I don't think so? To add onto how irritating and how much I dislike him, hes been using our, meaning my fiance and mines, laptop alot lately seeing as how we haven't completely setup internet on all 3 desktop computers in the house and the laptop is wireless. We do have an ethernet cord that runs from the router to my fiances desktop pc but thats only connected to network the laptop and his computer up, meaning my pc and the room-mates pc aren't hooked up unless he unplugs it. ANYWAY, the guy has no problem googling porn and idiotic on something that doesn't belong to him. I go to google something and I receive a previous search that involves topless women.
So, who here thinks:
A: The roommate NEEDS to go.
B: The roommate needs to learn hygene ethics and respesct
C: Needs to ask before just deciding to use something not his
D: All of the above.
I vote D.
PS: Im just irritated, I really dislike him and I just want him to go home, however I don't want to have to ask my fiance to choose between me and his friend.

Lol, thats crossed my mind at one point. I just don't want to seem like that snotty girlfriend where I have to make him choose between me or his friend. I just really cant stand him anymore, and in all honesty, he needs to go back home. He has his own life issues he needs to deal with and not cause any in mine. His being his bench-warrant or whatever for not paying child support when he, supposedly, wasn't aware that he was supposed to be paying it. We are all un-employeed, him AND my fiance smoke cigarettes and it isnt cheap....Id love to know how to tell my Love that his friend needs to go, warrant or not.Originally Posted by pretzel

Ohh.. does this bring back memories...I shared an apartment with 4 guys, 1 was my boyfriend, (husband now) and one of the gents, did not believe in bathing much as well.. When he did he left a mound... a MOUND of black hair in the tub!!!! When he did not bath he would Dump a ton of cologne on.. He also had 6 women taking care of his... ~* clearing throat sound!! (wink)*~ NEEDS.. From doing his laundry, to cooking, school work, to extra curicular...
I would try as often as possible to be in a different part of the apartment, or out and about with or without my bf.. when he was there. It was not an easy 2 years... The phone calls at 3:00 am from his family, as they were in another country... Used to infuriate me! I had 7:30 class.. ARGH.. I know this is not advise but I feel for you.. and could not help but respond...

Oh wow! I forgot to mention that he does cake on the cologne, he claims its just because of how strong it is but I call on that. His laundry gets done with mine and my fiances and even after washed throughly his cloths would still reek of his colonge. My fiance tried to tell me at one point that his friend was never always like this and that because of when his wife left him and got custody of their baby it made him fail college and a bunch of other bologna that I dont believe. Dont blame your problems as being the fault of someone elses actions, you know where the trash can is, you know where the shower is, take care of yourself or GTFO. My fiances family dont like his friend, they say he looks like a child molester and I am NOT kidding about that. They could tell he doesn't take care of himself and stopped inviting him to dinners and stuff at their houses because of it. His mom has even said, "Hes nothing but a mooch, he needs to go home," and my fiance would reply with, "I did him wrong through, I told him he could make alot of money helping me out this summer and now he has a bench-warrant (or whatever is it he got for not paying child support) because he didnt know he was supposed to be paying child support and if he goes home he'll go to jail" I'd rather him be out of my life and deal with his own. He just stresses me out. Ive been tempted to spray him with the water bottle I spray at the cats for doing something wrong. >>

The things you're saying here should be said to your fiance. If you haven't told him these things then you really need to. If you have and nothings changed then he either is not listening, not comprehending or is just flat out ignoring you.

Okay, I got'cha! You confused me there for a second. He knows his friend is a slob, doesn't shower or clean up after himself or anything. He does things when asked, but being 27 and having to be told to go take a shower is just flat out pathetic in my opinion and if I am the no-no word for a female dog, then so be it! I just need to think long and hard as to how to inform my fiance that, despite the issues his friend has back home in his state, his friend needs to go home and stop dragging us down with him.
Ewwww. Just the hygiene alone I wouldn't be able to deal with. And there is no way that I could let his smelly clothes be washed with mine. I wouldn't even be doing his wash. The whole situations stinks--in more way than one LOL! You need to put your foot down. Just reading your post, I was sitting here getting completely grossed out. Bad breath, body odor masked by cheap cologne and greasy unkempt hair. Nasty nasty nasty.
