I would love to be closer to my family and I'm not talking about distance, I mean a closer family bond. I know of a few of them really talking these horrible lies about me. Just off the wall things lies and I am really hurt. When I do see them they want to act nice and say 'aww we miss you and blah blah blah. I personally can NOT act like I don't know they have said such bad things about me. It's been awhile since they've said those things but I just can not bring myself to forgive. I mean any other person can talk about me all they want and I won't care but it's family, they should love unconditionally no matter what, so I thought. What should I do? I am not confrontational person at all.
At my Uncle's wedding, I was standing with my brother and a cousin who has talked behind my back walked up to my brother saying saying hello... and gave him a hug and didn't even look at me. My brother was even like 'that was kind of rude'. When I talk to my brother and Dad about this all they say is just talk to them. They want you to make the effort, but I'm thinking is it really worth it ?
I just want some advice or hear how you handle a situation like this.
"Just because you fail once, doesn't mean you're gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don't, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life's a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile about."

Your Uncle ignoring you and your Dad suggesting talk to him he wants you to make an effort, is that a suggestion of you have not really ever bonded with them, and ignored them to a degree and therefore he won't speak unless you do and is part of whom is spreading lies, which was ages ago.

Ask yourself what role you have played before the lies were given.

It may be easier for the members to respond if you give us more background....

If was my cousin ignoring me, when I moved to the same town everybody seemed to be happy and then all of a sudden once I started going to school with my cousin, she stopped talking to me and start speading lies to our family about me. I always thought we were cool. Even when I would come visit, we were all pretty close like cousin would be. I don't know what changed.
