    Exclamation Parents Anniversary Gift HELP!!

Become a member to remove this ad.
I know there are tons of moms on this website, so I felt this was a safe place to ask it. Unlike Yahoo! Answers where jerks make jokes out of every questions practically.
So its a simple enough question.

What would YOU want to receieve from your kids as a special, surprise anniversary present?

Keep in mind that it has to fit a price range of two teenage girls. I was thinking about cleaning up the house (for sure) but I feel like this year I should get them something extra special since for my graduation gift, my parents are paying about $2000+ for me and my dad each to go to New Zealand.

Their anniversary is on September 22nd (weekend of Homecoming), so it needs to be something special so they know my sister and I dont always think of ourselves on that weekend.

Thanks for all answers and I'll let you know what we end up doing

How about making arrangements for your football announcer to announce your parent's anniversary over the PA system at half time? Also have a bouquet of flowers for your mom and something your dad likes (his favorite cologne, candy, gift card to Home Depot inside a nice card) that you have "stashed" away in the press box that you present to your parents during the announcement?

Do they use spotlights during the Homecoming halftime show? Many schools do now... Perhpas you could get them to shine one on your parents.

Will there be a half time parade of class floats? Are you participating in it? Make a nice big sign and display it as you ride by where they're sitting. Include their names and not "Mom and Dad" as there may be other parents with the same anniversary.

Cost or $$$ spent generally means nothing to parents. We know you don't have much money. It's the thought and effort that counts.
Just being remembered on their special day by their children is usually enough for most parents. If you want to go above and beyond to make it "really special" then get together with your sister and get creative. Creativity doesn't cost much money....

    I hope this helps.

It's nice that you want to do something special for your parents!

Seeker has some Very Good Idea's both inexpensive and thoughtful.

Another possible thing is to " sneak " a Family album, one that hopefully has ( real Old fashioned , not our online type ) photo's of your Parents, Weddings, Reunions, you and Sister Births, Holidays Etc.

Scan them on the Comp and make a Photo CD/ DVD for them..
    Make Copies....

I have lost many photo's and albums from a fire and now I back up and triple back up Everything ..

You can always add ones that are taken with Digi Cams and things like that also. But the older photo's are ones that can never be replaced. So a Back up system, CD,Photo bucket acct, will I'm sure be very Appreciated.

You have 22 days to get this together, You and your Sister . You can contact Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents ( Both Sides ). If you are not very Photoshop Talented, Get your friends in on it .

If you can't seem to do this or is not Feasible.
There is always What My Gram Called

    " Natures Living Love "

Which is Simply Going to a Nursery ( Plant kind, not Baby kind )
or Home Depot/ Lowe's type Gardening Store. Purchase Two Plants, Bushes, Trees .
***Do study what kind can live in your climate ***
Plant them Side by Side in your Yard or if no yard then in Planters ( you can get them from Dollar Tree's/ Dollar General type places and paint them.

To this day I much prefer a Plant to Cut Flowers. As if taken care of properly, Watered and Fertilized, through both Sunny and Shady Days. The Plant will Grow just like the Love that it was Given from .

I've done this 1 year ago and I'm doing it again for my brother. I asked him to sign up an account from a cash gift registry website and list down what he wants for his birthday. After registering, I will be sending the address of his registry to all of our friends. On his birthday, I know he will be shock because most of his wish list will surely be in his hands.

    Another Excellent Idea..
Registering for a Combined Gift or Gift Choices.

The only thing about that is the " SPAM" emails that clutter their Inbox. Yep The Gift that keeps Giving and Giving.

I did Order something from Amazon or Over Stock, Kmart , Wall-Mart and a Geeks type online site. Goodness , just filling out the info to Order online is Amazing.

    Chore in itself...
Name Address , Email Addy, Credit/ Debit #, Store nearest you. Phone #, Extra Cell/ contact hone #.

Save the info or get their " Flyers".. Yes means YES to all. No Means they send you another " Why Not Form " ? Do that and you still get the Spam mail.

So Honestly if you do not know the " people " well enough to give them a Personal Heartfelt gift.

Gift Cards.. Sold at most Grocery Stores is an Excellent Choice. Visa or MasterCard, in the Monetary amount you chose, and They Can Spend as they wish.

    TeenageDream,
It's so great of you to WANT to do something special for your parents. I have little ones now and my parents ALWAYS request photo books for their Christmas gifts. I bet they would love a photo book of memories from when they met and got married through raising their kids. If you aren't a scrapbooker, try mixbook, this is a much easier way to capture those memories without all the paper, stickers, tools, etc. Just upload pictures (and allow other family members to upload old pics they have too). GOOD LUCK! No matter what you end up doing, it will be so special to your parents because you put thought into it.

Have you thought about making them a spaghetti candlelit dinner? You could make a nice meal with salad, garlic bread, spaghetti and dessert. You could serve them and make it super nice (and cheap).
