Thread: Alcohol, Depression, Too Many Problems.

My dad has a severe drinking problem and its only increased lately. Its gotten to its all time worst today. The story is long, but I can try to sum it up for you.

My dads parents & 2/3 siblings pushed him out of the family and they've pretty much ignored the fact that my family exists. They even went to greatest lengths as to BLOCK my sister and I on our Facebook pages. This happened when I was 8-9 (So almost 9-10 YEARS ago).

The depression slowly became obvious and he got some medication for it. But then when his medication wasnt working or would wear off, he started to drink. It went from a beer or two, to 3-4 vermoths/vodkas/mixed drinks a DAY. It recently hit its worst point when he went shooting (at a gun club, he has an official license) and then didnt come home for a few hours. This was normal, but then it became weird. My mom kept calling but he didnt answer. Later tonight, she asked where he was and he FREAKED out at her. Not just yelling, shouting at the top of his lungs so many terrible things. Things like "Eff you, I hate you, Get out of my life" and other things. I tried to bang my feet on the floor (they were in the basement) to let them know I could hear, but my dad kept shouting.

My mom came upstairs crying and shaking. We're both scared of what this alcohol and depression is doing to him, but he's too stubborn to seek any help. I'm incredibly scared for what could happen to him and he wont listen to reason. I've cried to him about this and he just says "Your taking your mothers side, you dont care about me" and things like that. Advice?

I've seen this here 3 days now. And am afraid that I cannot post information on it, as I do not know your age and am unwilling to give any advice on this other than to seek out help from a School Counselor or Church member . Good luck .
