Default Scared Bridesmade!!!!

Hi Lady's I need someones help please, Im going to be a bridesmaid for my bff, thats not the problem, the problem is the other girls in the wedding want knee length dresses, iam not ok with that... That is to short for me. Im also much heavier then the other girls and very self conscious , i dont like to show any part of my body, and im trying to be ok with the dresses they are picking, im not big on fashion or what i wear, i do not know how to dress up at all, My question is Could anyone tell me what type of dress i should be looking for that would go well with a heavy pear body shape???? Thank you

well it really depends on the type of wedding this is. All of the traditional weddings I've been to, all the bridesmaids match but the maid of honor was dressed differently. Is the bride asking the bridesmaids to buy there own dresses and is she giving you a standard to look for? Can you give us a bit more info about what the bride is asking of you

She is telling the bridesmaids to pick whatever dress they want as long as they match . there are five girls and all of them want short knee length dresses, or a long dress that tight to the body

You can find all sorts of info on dressing for different body types. I bet if you did a search you'd come up with a bunch. I think a knee length dress should look great.
You want to accent your bust and waist and perhaps a loose, flowy skirt to the dress? You don't want a style that has a stiff skirt that will stand out from your hips. Don't be so hard on yourself, a lot of men like a woman with real curves and something to hold on to. LOL when I was younger and very slender, a bf complained that he could cut himself on my hip bones, the next guy I dated thought they were really sexy - you can't please everyone so just please yourself!

I'm something with an empire waist. The empire waist will sit up under your bust and the dress will flow out from there or maybe an A-line dress...

If you are concerned about arms, get a wrap.

I feel your pain! I was in the same situation a while ago. I hate my arms, and legs. But in the end i got a strapless dress which had a tie just below my boobs, and it flowed out from there. It was knee length which i wasn't very pleased about until i found an amazing pair of pretty polly tights, natural colour, which actually pull in your legs so to speak. Kind of like control knickers but for your legs! i also got a little cardigan to cover up the tops of my arms. I then changed into some more comfortable clothes when the party in the evening started. So if you feel really uncomfortable maybe you could ask your friend if it would be ok to change once the ceremony and photo's etc are out of the way?
