    Question Please, Someone, HELP!

I've been everywhere, EVERYWHERE, trying to find some decent clothes! I don't know where these trends are heading, but the stuff I'm seeing is some of the the UGLIEST fashion I have ever experienced...and it's everywhere! Yet I see no one actually wearing the over-priced garbage I'm finding in stores.

I'm 18 and in need of some cute casual and business clothes for my job. Where should I be looking? I'm hoping to find there's some stone I've left unturned..anyone have any ideas?

haha, seriously it sucks being a woman, I know what you mean.

I turned to Ezy-Buy, you can pick on line and there are some European items as well that are really great... Look for the bargains, they always have them, as otherwise some things are a tad more expensive than stores, but only certain lines, mainly the European ones.

I never find anything I like otherwise, unless, I try a Goodwill Store. Old clothes washed and ironed are sometimes new to someone else, they just didn't like it and mostly unique if you have an eye for creativity that being, able to put this goes with that together.

Give that a try as well.

Don't know what part of the world you in but for business you should build your wardrobe on classic styles anyway. Places like Talbots or Brooks Brothers have a nice selection of garments that will last and never go out of style. Go to the higher end stores, avoid the main floor where they sell the more cheaply made "fashion" and head up stairs to the "better dresses" or designer areas and look for the clearance racks, they are usually buried. But I've gotten $400, fine quality wool, designer pants for between $60 and $100. They fit better, look better and if cared for will last a long time without going out of style.

The saying, "dress for the posistion you want. not the one you have", is really true. You are young and starting out in the working world. You are right on target that how you present yourself counts - it's says a lot about your confidence, self image and savvy.

Do some shopping in the high end stores, even if you don't buy anything you will get an education in how quality, well tailored garments look, fit and feel. Goodwill sometimes has some treasures but I like to shop the higher end thrifts. I've gotten Ann Taylor or Donna Karan jackets for a dollar, leather coats for a couple of dollars, a Kaspar suit for $15 (couldn't buy just the buttons for twice that) my daughter got a hand beaded formal, never worn, with the hang tags still on it for $30.

You can dress like a million bucks if you know what to look for. Good for you recognizing the importance of dressing appropriately.

yes i love thrift stores in good (expensive) areas. virtually everythings seems to be new, designer or both. at prices even i can afford and its feel good too, better for the enviroment and helping a charity. ebay is also excellent, in australia we are coming into summer as the rest of the world is going into winter so we can get some cheapies from england and the good old USA! and the dollar is great at the moment. the sizing is a bit different so you need to check your measurements. shoes too!

I like ebay the most. I like a place where one can get all the needed things and at nice price. And ebay is such a place. I love to shop on ebay.
