Just wanted to add that , do I personally reject an outfit because it isn't one of my usual sizes? No, I don't. And I went from a 30 to a 3. Do I understand why someone would care about the size in their panties that no one can see, sure I do.. for me as I was losing weight, each size lower was a step closer to my goal, it was a measure of success.

I guess I just don't see where it means someone is lacking self esteem by taking pride in a size. I would call it vanity before calling it a self -esteem issue.

I can see where you are coming from with this one. I dont buy a pair of pants for 100 because they are a designer brand. ((Or however much they sell them for)) I can buy a pair of jeans at WalMart and they last longer than some. BUT, if I buy a shirt from there, it doesnt last as long. But I wont go and buy anything designer. I dont own one designer piece of anything. lol. I dont think it is a self esteem issue. about the size. I understand what you mean about coming from a 30 down to 3. I can see that and the reason for caring about what size you buy. Everyone is different and cares more about certain things that others may not. If you went from a 30 to a 3, Go you! Great job! I dont think that I would have the patience to be so strong.

Thanks Katey. I wasn't trying to be so defensive about it, really. It just bothered that the other poster could be so judgemental, not having a full picture of that persons situation. I wasn't the one that said they wouldn't buy a size that was bigger... but I have felt a lil twingy pain in the tummy of 'ugh this sucks' when having to buy a bigger size that is not usually me.. so I could understand it.

With labels too, I'll admit to be being a labelhoe when it comes to handbags and designer perfumes but the rest I can take or leave. Thanks for your compliment to my weightloss, I think of the strength that got me through as a gift from God, I don't know how I obtained the courage to finally believe in myself after spending so many years not doing so.

Doesn't matter to me, I know I'm fit and healthy, I don't need a certain size to make me feel good about myself and neither does anyone with any real self esteem.
well that was a little snobby. Someone who has always been skinny can't really have a say here and say that certain people dont have real self esteem. You wouldnt understand if youve never been fat. I used to be, but got my size down to a 5 and most women have self esteem issues. Women who try to put other woman down do so because it makes them feel better about themself therefore proving that they feel bad about themselves sometimes too

Well...I agree and disagree with you on this one. First: "Someone who has always been skinny can't really have a say here and say that certain people dont have real self esteem." I dont agree completely on this one. There are SO many definitions of skinny. I believe that we CAN have a say BUT, it is true we cant say certain people dont really have self esteem. However, I wasnt saying anything about people not having good self esteem so I am guessing you arent talking about me. Now, what I agree with you on is how most women DO have self esteem issues. It may not be about weight. , I KNOW I have some issues about myself and sometimes it IS about my weight. After getting out of HS I have gotten a little better about myself. I try not to put other women down about their weight. Of course, sometimes I do find myself making fun of some girl who should not be wearing what she is wearing, or should I say woman...What I mean is, I see an older woman (maybe in her 50s-60s) wearing what is meant to be worn by a teenager (yes, I have seen it). I think it is funny. But thats me and I guess that has nothing to do with weight. Like I said, I try not to put other women down about their weight. Who knows, it could be me in a few years. Karma...thats how I see things..."skinny" girls putting down "bigger" girls may end up big themselves in the future.
