Thanks everyone! I did go with the ballet flats...just bought a couple of really cute pairs, one black, one white with pink trim. BUT, grrrr, I in fact did just buy a really cute pair of two inch black heels (high for me) and I'm really happy I got them. : )

Ballet Flats and wedges are really flattering and usually pretty comfortable. I am uncomfortable in heels and I usualy can achive the cutness without the irritation of heels with ballet flats.

I've always had good luck with the Clarks and Birkenstock brand whose shoes are getting much more fashionable and have lost that reputation for producing "clunky" looking shoes.

Do you like Clark's of England as far as comfort? They have some REALLY cute styles, and I have a friend who has foot problems (like me) and swears by them. I'm seriously thinking about getting a pair even though they're kind of pricey; I think they'd be worth it.

I love Clarke's.... Some of the styles may not appeal to many, but they're very comfortable.

Also, Aerosoles are great too - and they've become a LOT more fashionable over the years....

Hey, there are also Nurse Mates to fall back on! They could be "retro cool"!!! That was a joke.... (unless you like them!)

The best thing you can do when it comes to comfy cute shoes, especially if you have feet problems (I have flat feet and bunions, my feet hurt most all the time) is to part with the money and buy good shoes. I suggest The Walking Company, they're usually pretty good... they're also expensive. I've spent $100+ on shoes and they're still around years later, and they're still comfy, high heels too.

Since you're already tall and don't like sandals, I'd go with flats. Go colorful too, don't do boring brown, black or some other neutral, do red, or green, make it pop! Mary Janes are way way out of style right now, so I'd avoid them, dunno if/when they're coming back lol.

Why not you try for flats and its not necessary to wear heels. In market there are so many trendy shops or showrooms.

Hello. Since you are tall and also have foot problems, it is advisable that you avoid heels and go for flats. SummitFashions have a large collection of Maryjanes. Just check out and I am sure you will find them convincing.
