Thread: Why are women so materialistics?

I am sorry ladies . I am not here to cost any embarrassment. I like women for sure.

Maybe its possible that the women you've run into in your life have been materialistic because I personally do not think I am. To be honest I could care less about my possessions... as long as i have a warm home, shower, and job I have everything i need.

Ignorant question. Not all women are. Some are, some men are too.
I couldn't care less about material stuff. My boyfriend complains all the time how cheap I am. 90% of my wardrobe comes from the 2nd hand store. I refuse to buy things that are name brand because it's silly. I drive an old beater car when it's too cold to ride my bike. I always buy generic food at the store.

So, you're generalizing and honestly you just sound bitter and angry.

I am not at all! in fact the less the better for me. I hate to dust..(LOL) therefore i do not collect nick-nacks. And must admit, nothing in my home really matches. Piece here and a piece there.
I personally never wished to be a slave to my house or possessions, EVER!!!

I wish my boyfriend were a little less materialistic... but I buy him a lot of it... mostly clothes because I like to see him looking fly!

Why do all men scratch their balls at fancy restaurants?? That question is probably as insulting to the character of most men as the one you asked here. Sure, some men may scratch their balls at a fancy restaurant... but the ones that don't.. definitly would not want to be lumped in with the men that do.

Plenty of men are very materialistic... have to have the best car, that they wash all the time and make it look fancy and buy fancy stuff for it, its an object... so thats materialism at its best. You can even say men that have to have trophy gf/wives are materialistic... since those women are seen as objects by them, an accessory to be worn in public... thats materialistic.

But to answer your question about why are SOME women materialistic.. here is my best guess:
A lot of women that *are* materialistic, have placed a false sense of worth associated with having objects. Many possibly grew up poor or saw their parents struggle financially and are scared of living the same way.

Some grew up in homes where objects meant love. Where dad would buy them a new dollhouse rather than spend time with them... a new car instead of a sit down talk every evening about their life so they see things, items, as what matters rather than love.

Its usually based on insecurities, if i have this bag... no girl can look down on me, if I don't get this pair of shoes people will think less of me, if we don't drive this kind of car, people will think we are poor. Its all feelings of lack of worth as a person in the eyes of other people without material things. Trust that people that are materialistic wouldn't want those objects if no one could see them. If you asked a materialistic girl if she'd rather have a million dollar diamond ring that she'd never be allowed to show anyone, that had to only be worn at home... or a 500,000 dollar ring that she can wear everywhere and show her friends... she'll choose the latter. Materialism is about showing off... PERIOD.

Try looking elsewhere then. There are plenty of down to earth, low maintenance women out there. 9x out of 10 they are overlooked because they are just that, down to earth and low maintenance.
