It's around 400 I think. Is that ridiculous? My brain says to much, my heart says gimme gimme.

Divide the cost by how many times you will use it.
A $400 dress worn four times, is like 4 $100 dresses, something most people would find more acceptable.

That's a great way of looking at it
I think also though, if we see something and it will make us feel "beautiful" and we can afford to buy it, then that in itself is worth doing it.. Boys buy model cars as a hobby, x 4, is $400... Or, they collect shoes... Girls get their nails done, x 20 per year, which ever way you want to look at it, everbody does "something" that amounts to over that, over a year.

you must believe!
My opinion? Yeah, I'd never pay $400 for any outfit, much less 1 dress. But I'd say that if you are financially stable enough to do so without going into credit card debt over it, or causing financial hardship in some way to your family, then go for it. I'm a consignment shopper...someone that even when I can afford to buy more expensive things, I don't want to just because I feel I can find a better deal and spending the excess is a waste.

If I am looking at the same dress, *I* wouldn't spend $400 on it.
It's a very simple design....If I am paying a lot for something, there better be a WOW factor to it.
If there is something I want that I didn't budget for, I write it down and go back a month later. If I have saved money or still want it, I get it.

I'd say just buy it because if you don't your constantly going to be thinking about it. Just make sure you get good use out of it!
