Question Toning the midsection

I am an hour-glass shaped petite, and i am happy about it, except for my midsection. I have good curves, but I need to tone my tummy and abdomen, they seem bulgy and loose. How can I tone this part...what moves would help it?

well..my tummy is looking quite slimmer now that i switched from meat to soy products. seriously after a week It was results. Also double the water that you drink. I thought i was drinking lots of water until i measured it and it was only like 5 glasses a day. Now i drink 9 to 10 and it helps me feel better ..not to mention my complexion.

Thanks for the dietary advice. I have to try measuring my H2O intake, I think that'd be a great idea! I agree with you on meat intake...I was once a vegetarian, and my tummy was flatter. When I came to the US, it has been hard for me to stay on my veggies, always on the rush...so fastfood is my convenient getaway.

Gotta be more disciplined to go back there, shouldn't I?

I also need some advice about exercises on toning my abs...

Do a basic search on ab exercises. There are endless possibilities. Just remember to do a good variety and switch it up often.

Thumbs up ab workout

Well I feel that isometric crunches are best.

and make sure you are doing them correctly.

make sure you are looking up..not straight.. try to just barely clasp your hands behind your head to make sure you aren't pulling your head up. your elbows should be flat. while you do a crunch hold for ten seconds. in this time you can make sure all of the above is correct. straighten arms..breathe.. and a good way to make sure your head is not too low is to put a fist between your chin and chest.

If you start out doing ten of these..ten second holds you should see better results than going crazy with crunches. I read this in a fitness magazine years ago and i never went back to other types.

but that low midsection is really hard to get rid of. the ring under the belly button.. its just in my family to have, what my sister calls, "a kangaroo pouch" and the extension of the upper buttox "saddle bags"

also.. i take acidophilus pills and that helps the healthy flora in the intestines.. keeps candida and BV away as well as aids in digestion. Decreases bloating.

I also read that pineapple eaten after food is good to break down the amino acids.. something in the enzymes.

after you can do ten of these. try 3 sets wait a few minutes in between.

The problem with only doing crunches and situps is that they only work to strengthen your abs, not get rid of belly fat. Lots of us have great abs, but they're hidden under a layer of fat, how small that may be. What you need to be doing is more intense full body workouts that will boost your metabolism and get you burning calories. Weight training is also great for the midsection.

Also, cardio alone is not always the best workouts either. Changing up your routine every few weeks is the best way to keep your metabolism working on high.

My nutritionist and trainer told me you can do abs all day long and wont have a six pack. Losing weight and strength training are best. I've lost 22 pounds and my stomach has gotten smaller. Also since I've been liftign weights I see a very noticable difference in my overall body shape.

I have been doing the fluidity workout with my fluidity bar for almosttwo weeks now. I could feel the difference, and bf had commented on how it is shaping me. I like the routine, too. It's main theme is to use your own weight to tone your entire body. By basically relying on your own weight, and doing right stretches, you will get leaner, longer muscles and more proportionately toned body.

The bottomline is, I enjoy working it out. It's like a ballerina's routine. Check it out!
