Default NASA Calorie/Exercise Monitor

Has anyone tried the strap-on calorie/motion counter created by NASA for the astronauts? It's my understanding that it will count not only steps/calories burned while exercising, but also when its owner is sedentary and not exercising at all.

Where can I purchase one??

I'm not sure. But there are all sorts of online calculators that measure calories burned. You can do a google search and find tons. You just enter your height, weight, age, sex and activity w/duration and it will tell you what you've burned.
