Default Working Late & working out!

I just started a new job and I am having problems sticking with a workout program. Sometimes I will work in the mornings and then other days I will work late in the afternoon till night. It changes everyday. I had myself trained to get up and workout in the morning but now that I am working late, I can't make myself workout as much. I was wondering if anyone had advice?

Ugh, that's frustrating. Can you work out really early in the morning? The only thing that will make you stick with it is sheer will power to get up and get out even when you're tired and you don't want to. Everyone has an hour in their day to fit in exercise, it's just about forcing yourself to do it.

Since your schedule varies you seem to have two choice. One is to work out regularly relative to your job, so either before or after work regardless of what time of day.

The other is to maintain a regular time, either earlier than you ever go to work or later. If working monings you have to be there at 8, get up earlier and go at 6:30 and do so whether you're working early or late. A regular sleep cycle is healthier for you anyway.

It isn't bad, but I wouldn't say its the most productive.

After doing cardiovascular activity for a sustained period of time, your metabolism is elevated for about the next 6-8 hours.

It might make it tough to sleep, and since your metabolism levels off and can drop during sleep, you aren't getting the full benefit of your cardio.
