Wow, you are motivating me to get after it more regularly. I've been in a slump, I know it would help. Thank you
I haven't done Yoga since 2006 - today was such a challenge to keep from falling on my face!
I feel wonderful all the pain is gone.... yesterday I was almost in tears to have to try and sit down today I feel like a Million Bucks!

WildChild... You should! I must admit today I looked like a cow on ice hahaha! It was the type of moment you wish you had it on video to laugh at but really glad it isn'tYoga is something takes all your effort to focus on the moment you are in. You aren't thinking about the bills, you aren't thinking about all the bs and problems at your job, home, or whatever.
If that is where your mind is .... you will end up on the floor!I don't mind that I looked so ungraceful today.... I have 12 weeks to improve and today showed me how I was not fully in the moment. Yoga is only once ever 4 days but I'm excited to get there again and really focus my mind and body together bringing them in better balance with one another.
I hope you do cause you are way to great of a lady to be in a slumpI"m on day 4 and prior to me taking a great step in the right direction I was soooo bogged down.
Well i feel really happy for you that you think its amazing. Yes i do get bored sometimes & i feel like i dont wanna do it, but i have a great body, & i love it, & that motivates me, lol, & because im really fast, & track might do me some good someday, like when college comes.
I have a question....
After one has not been working out for a while, do you have any tips on the best way to get back into it? I used to work out religiously years ago. I was in a car wreck that put me out of commission for a quite a while and messed up my back,(5 years ago this nov.) and I've never been able to get back into like I was. I have dvd's, a treadmill, and weights, etc at home, but I can't get motivated to get going again. I'm always tired, and finding time to do it....I have none. Its in the back of my head that you cannot "find" time for excercise, you have to make time for it. But man, I just can't find the motivation to get up and do it. I think about it...but thinking about it isn't making my butt any smaller.![]()
i had given up on my daily walks because its winter over here, but thanks to this wonderful thread i have been re-motivated - THANK YOU!
At the urging of a freind I got a gym membership a few months ago. It included a couple sesions with a trainer, which was helpful. Of course they try to sell you more at a higher cost than the membership LOL. It includes a number of classes, I've been trying different things as time and schedules permit. I've started getting to yoga class a couple times a week and have tried pilates. There are several more I want to give a try, including water aerobics. The classes are a good way to explore. I've had some back trouble lately (may be mild sciatica flaring up - no fun if it's gets worse) the yoga teacher was able to recomend some stretches to help. I don't have insurance so staying fit is extra important.
i went to my first yoga class last night - OMG!!!! i felt like a human pretzel, but surprising although my neck is a tiny bit sore today, i feel pretty good. i have paid for a block of 5 classes so i cant wimp out!!
