Do you have access to a treadmill or stair climber? Or just a tall building with lots of stairs? Hill climbs are good for that. Running in general.

I have a gym membership so yes. I'm just sick of havin a big butt. And I'm not up to running yet. 1)b/c I sprained my ankle a month ago and its still sensitive . 2) b/c I'm hella out of shape and get winded easily.

Just start by going on nice long walks. Often.

I do this just to relax, listening to music on my ipod while I'm at it. Maybe bringing my camera along to snap a few photos along the way.

The point is, something like that can be a very fun activity on its own but be good exercise as well.

For the butt, I'd say squats - the proper way. And then bicycle crunch is also great - for the abs.

Don't do squats...it'll make your butt bigger.

Weight training builds muscle and adds mass. You'll weigh more and look bigger.

You need a caloric deficit to get rid of stored fat. Ramp up your activity and reduce your calorie intake to accomplish this.

Walking doesn't burn many calories unless you are really pushing it.

I'm not a fan of running, either. Too much pounding pavement.

Try the elliptical. I put it on a very high level and pound out 30-35 minutes. Very low impact and very effective.

Watch the diet, too. Count your cals and keep em under 1800/day.

    Good luck.

Very simple exersizes to lift and trim the "saddlebags and butt: Stand up straight and tall, raise one leg behind you, 10" or so off the floor, toes gently pointed, bounce your leg behind you, alternate legs every 10 or 20. This will lift and tone your tush. For the saddlebags, same basic position but instead of your foot pointed behind you, flex your foot to the side. These are great because you can do then virtually anywhere if you are standing.

Of course you'll get better results if this is simply a part of a healtheir lifestyle. Remember alcohol packs in the calories, as does snack foods.

I find a good way to slim down is the treadmill. I also have a problem with one of my legs and found a way to work around it.
Try putting the treadmill on the highest incline. Usually 15 I believe for an average treadmill. Then put it on a low setting, around 3.5. Usually walk for about a half an hour.
It burns a lot of caleries and is easy on the legs.
