Your core needs to be engaged pretty much the whole time you are on the bike, to keep proper balance and posture. So it's good for that. It's great cardio and if you're doing hills with a lot of resistance, it will be good strength as well.
I'm considering buying a bike, but how good of a cardio exercise is biking? seems like it only works the legs and the butt.

biking is great exercise! Depending on the bike you get, you can alter the resistence in your gears to give yourself an intense workout - pair that up with some hills and you're legs and butt will look fab!
And because its cardio, and you have to engage your core and your arms to balance, you're whole body gets a super workout. Best part is, you buy a bike and not only is it a superb piece of exercise equipment, it can also be just as much fun for recreation, when you just feel like taking a leisurely ride.
I just bought a bike myself this week... I'm going to start out leisurely and build myself up to a more intense ride. Can't wait!![]()
