The diet you have to keep is pretty gnarly, I know that. You won't get any flack from people if you don't act like a d-bag at the gym. There are a lot of good body-building forums on the internet as well.

If you belong to a gym, it would be a good idea to hire a personal trainer that specializes in body building. I see guys at the gym all the time who are furiously pumping away and doing all the lifts wrong. It only takes a few times of doing it wrong and you could have some pretty serious injuries.

Not a girl but I bodybuild a while now. Dont look at all those forums, they get their ideas from fitness magazines which try to convince you that you need 4000kcal to build muscles, to sell you fatburners afterwards.

The bodybuilders you see in contests take steroids. Women can get strong, but a Miss Olympia is on steroids.
However you can get strong naturally. Eat enough proteins the right fats and some complex carbs. In the beginning you will do quick progress.
However you might eventually reach the point where your muscles tire before you can trigger them to grow. When that happens increase the weight untill you can do only 6-8 reps.

If that stops working too, pick a weight you can do 8-10 reps with, if you cant move it anymore do short breaks 2-20 seconds between reps, so that you end up doing 20 reps with that weight. At some point you will hit your natural limit though.

My GF used to body build but more on a personal level now. Combines it with a healthy fitness program. Healthy eating and exercise....can't go wrong. Yes, she would agree that the big muscular ladies are on the stuff. She is still ripped in a good way) but not like an amazon. It is uncommon to find a natural big bulky muscular women so don't worry about that. You will loose fat, gain muscule and look great.
