I'm going to start P90X today! Anyone want to do it with me?
If you're serious about trying P90x just know that if you're out of shape- that you are going to be really sore. It is an extreme work-out and the best way to get results is stick with it and not give up. You should also try the yoga version, it seriously kicks some a**
Awww SP, I wish I could! I'm totally in after I get through the next month. I've got a big project and a bunch of other stuff on my plate, but I fully plan to do it during the holidays. Might seem like a crazy time to try, but even if I only get through 60 days before life gets crazy again, I *know* how well it works!
I am incorporating some into my routine though. Tomorrow is Core Synergistics and Saturday I'm doing Kenpo![]()

I've heard a lot of people quit it because its really hard.
OK, I did the cardio video yesterday. And while I realize that I'm more fit than the average poster here, it wasn't a real challenge at all. I didn't even break a sweat until a good 30-35 minutes in.
I'm going to do the strength and plyo videos this week, I imagine that they are a bit harder.
Anyone who doesn't do the program because it's too hard is just making excuses. The instructor gives constant feedback on making it easier if you're a beginner.
I am going to completely agree with SP. Now, granted I was in *better* shape when I started the P90X the first time, but even though it was hard, Tony encourages you to take a break or pause if you need to and jump back in. It's also a system of keeping up with how *you* improve since you can do the worksheets and keep track of your reps and weights every week. I can promise that you can do more reps and/or more weight if you do it like you're supposed to. THe only thing I've had some people have issues with is the plyo. It is a bit intense and a lot of people I know have felt faint if they tried to do early in the a.m. (before eating)
Otherwise, I think you can do this program at almost any level if you're okay with starting slowing, pushing yourself beyond what you *think* you're capable of, and being committed to it for the entire 90 days. I have NEVER toned up so quickly as I did with this program which is why I fully intend to start it again in the next month when I know I can get the workouts all in like I should.

My boyfriend and I are into our second round of P90x classic. I really like it. Last year we did it through the super dreary winter months and it definitely kept me sane. Now we are in phase 2 again, and this time we are stretching out each phase of the workouts to 6 weeks instead of three, and we only do half of the sets of weights to maintain. I only say this because it is not like you are just buying one workout video. You really get a good sized collection to manipulate after staying true to the first 90 days. Just like some of the others said though, I went into P90x in pretty good shape. I do think this may make a difference. It does offer a great varied routine to keep you motivated.
Overall, absolutely worth it. You can do it by yourself, but it is nice to have a workout partner to help on those hard to get going days.
