I would like to think of myself as someone that takes good care of my body. I exercise at the chance I can get and keep myself busy. I may not always eat the right food but I make sure I get a good amount of nutrition in my system to stay healthy. My only problem with my body is my stomach. I have a nice slim body shape but for some reason my stomach looks like a woman that is in the begin stages of pregnancy. I have done possibly every work out I can think of to get a flat stomach or at least some packs but nothing seems to work. Is it normal for a 22 year old female to have the nice slim body shape with a pregnant looking stomach? What is the cause of it and what can I do to get rid of it ASAP?

Do you drink a lot of alcohol? That seemed to be a common reason among a lot of girls I knew in college. Another reason for a stomach like that is malnutrition - my vegan friend is having this problem.

No I don't drink alcohol that much. The only thing I lack in my food eating is seafood.

Do you eat a lot of breads and pasta? Refined carbs always make me have a belly.

You need to burn more calories than you take in to burn fat. Also, lots of fruits and veggies and lean meats. Limit sugar, refined carbs and fats. Keep your fat intake to the good fats found in nuts, fish, etc.

Are you doing a lot of sit-ups, both straight and touching the opposite knee with your elbow? The way I did it when I was young was by using a shovel, lifting trees and other tasks at a nursery. It may take serious sweating to achieve what you want. Try turning a couple of acres of land using a shovel would be a good start for those up to the challenge.

Doing strength exercises for your abs will help make them strong and look nice....once the fat is gone. But you have to lose the fat otherwise you're just building muscle under the fat....which will just make your belly appear even bigger.
