I need some good music for running. I got tired of what I had on my mp3 player and want to start from scratch. Any songs/artists you all enjoy working out to?

Umm I like avenged sevenfold...it's fast and has a good pace for working out I think. Plus I personally get pretty pumped when I listen to it! Oh and Mudvayne! Also another favorite of mine.

What do you normally listen to?

Right now, I'm addicted to running while listening to the Jay-Z and Linkin Park mashup album. It is GREAT! All the songs have good fast paced tempos and are excellent to run to.

Others I listen to are Swollen Members, Dirty Heads, Korn, Offspring, Nine Inch Nails, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Hed PE, Styles of Beyond, Hilltop Hoods, The Urge, 311, Eminem. Those are probably the ones I listen to the most while working out.

Good thread though, because I'm in some serious need of new workout music too.

All kinds of stuff. Sometimes rock, sometimes hip hop, sometimes rap, sometimes punk, but rarely listen to anything slow while running. Really, as long as it has a good beat and can keep my attention then it's good for running.

All of these are good suggestions so far. Hopefully there'll be lots more!

I guess it depends on the pace of your workout.

Have you ever tried looking up repacer? Actually I think it might be called "Your Fitness Music" now... you can make whatever songs you like to the pace that your workout is going. Or you can do a search for songs that have the beat tempo you're looking for.

Google it if you're interested, or I could PM you the link I have too!

KMonte - Repacer seems pretty cool. I'm going to check it out in more detail later. I had never even thought about songs based on beat per minute until you and LanaBear brought it up. You go girls. hehe.

Another good site is jogtunes. I PM'd it to BD, but thought others may benefit from it as well.

You can query playlists depending on BPM, genre and artist if you want. It is pretty cool.
