Day after day I tell myself that I need to start exercising. I weigh, roughly, 100 lbs. Give or take a couple of pounds. I'm not bulimic or anorexic, petite women run in my family. ANYWAY, I look healthy and fit for my size but I don't feel like it. I get up in the morning and flop myself down at the computer and do stuff on it for a GOOD majority of the day, thats my daily routine almost.

I want to feel healthy and be healthy, because I doubt my current couch-potato lifestyle is all that healthy for someone. I just can't, even though I want to, convince myself to do any form of exercising activity. I need help in convincing myself to do it as well as tips as to what kinds of exercises a person should do for a more healthy lifestyle exercise wise. Thanks for reading!

I'm very petite also, and even though we're not on the heavy side, someday's we really can just feel quite sluggish!
Sitting inside at a computer isn't very good. If you don't go to the gym, why don't you and some friends decide to plan a few evenings a week, to go for a nice walk.
That way, your leaving the house, socializing with friends and also exercising at the same time!
Or even you and your friends, join the gym, as a way of getting together and doing some exercising!

Me and my friends go together, we have a great time, and over all you generally feel great after a session at the gym.

Good for you Raina! I bet you'll be surprised at the good things to come.
Advice? 1) start simple and slow - walking or slow biking 20 minutes a day is a great place to start. 2) keep it fun and simple 3) try different things, see what you like and what you don't, do what works for you and don't worry about keeping up with others.
Once you get in a habit, you can up the intensity and explore more vigorous stuff, but start slow and easy and build from there.

    Great advice guys!

Start out with walking. For the first week, just to get in the habit, don't make it exercise. Do you drink coffee or tea in the morning? After you get up, grab your coffee and go out for a walk. Don't go all power/fitness walk, this is just to get you outside and moving. Just stroll around. Make yourself stay out there for 30 minutes. Do that everyday.

Then the next week, pick it up. Walk fast, you should be sweating and breathing heavy. If you're not, you're not walking fast enough. Do that 5/days a week. After a couple of weeks of hard walking, you should be ready to add a bit of jogging to those walks. (30 second bursts every couple of minutes...say 3 of the 5 days)

I used to run Cross Country and loved it, I felt proud of myself that I could run a mile in under 10 minutes. ;D I'm not sure if I can do that anymore though, I used to do that in Highschool. I intend on taking everyones advice into play, as well as future posts of advice. <3

Sounds like you're a natural runner. Why not set yourself a goal...maybe a marathon in your district and start training for that. Good luck.

There are always charity 5ks going on. That's only 3.1 miles. An easy goal. I bet you could do one now off the couch and do ok. I made myself start running by signing up for 5Ks. Just enter one, you'll get a shirt and a goodie bag. And if you're at all competitive, you'll want to do well and train a bit. The races are fun, the energy in the crowd really gets you pumped up.

It's been said before: The most important part of developing new habits is to have fun! So what ever you like, just do it. It can be the running, it can be Volleyball, swimming, pilates, kickboxing or martial arts, Yoga, zumba classes or regular dancing...and the list goes on. Just make sure you have fun and I promise you won't be a coach potatoe anymore
