I've heard you can retain water from weight training, so drink a lot of water and maybe that will help.
Please help, I am so desperate.
I have been struggling to lose weight and keep it stable for the past year. Recently (late September) I randomly lost 10 lbs. (140-130) I had just started a detox protocol from a naturopath, so I assumed that was it. I started to look a little frail around October and decided to start weight training twice a week. Since then I have gradually gained ten lbs, two percent body fat and an inch in thighs, hips, waist, calfs. In less than two months! I am so confused, I have been following the detox protocol I am always watching what I eat. Can someone give me some insight/a solution? I am so embarrased, I don't even want to go into public. I need to lose this weight now!

Muscle mass weighs more than fat - so yes, if you have been weight training you can and will put on weight, though you should be loosing body fat not gaining it. Are you going for bulk or cut?
If you are looking to loose - try using less weight and more reps and sets - that should do the trick...
Another thing is watch what you eat - you need more protein! You will get more hungry by lifting, but you should be burning it just about as quick as long as you are not OVERindulging... so take care with the goodies - eat more protein, and lessen your weights, increase your sets and reps.
