I run track and I usually dont have issues with tone during winter but with ice this last few months i havent been able to run very often. I need to re-tone my thighs so I can feel decent in my track shorts. I do lunges and squats for general tone, but does anyone else have any suggestions?

ad weights to your lunges and squats. Whether those are dumbbells you hold in each hand, a barbell you hold across the back of your neck or a couple of heavy books you get off of your bookshelf at home. Doing so will increase the productivity of the exercise and each individual rep.

Hint: Fuel, Form, Weight In that order ALWAYS! What you put into your body is top priority, followed by the very best form for every rep of every set of every exercise, followed by the amount/type of weight you use.

Default It's All About The Food!

Well regardless of what excercises you do to tone your legs it's all about the food girl...lol. If you want your legs to be tone it is not the resistance weight that you use to do you lunges. It's the FOOD!!! Make sure you eat 3 small main meals (Breakfast, lunch and dinner) and 2 snacks in between. Keep your intensity up!!! (removed link)

you can also try jumping lunges tabata style to really increase the intensity and incorporate a cardiovascular workout while working out the muscles as well to change it up. You can also perform hamstring curls on an exercise ball too. Have fun!

Be careful taking advice from people that don't follow the rules of WH and include links or sites in their information.

Generally, they have someone else's best interest in mind and not yours.

Ask any physician, certified trainer, or general health expert about the benefits of adding weights/resistence to what you're doing now and they will tell you the same thing I did.

    I wish you continued success....

BTW, I'm a hoosier so I'm not too far away.
