    Hi everyone,

I will be finishing up my sessions with my personal trainer (who is fantastic!) in a couple of weeks. I can't afford more sessions with her, so in order to keep myself motivated and provide some new reading material each month, one of the things I want to do is subscribe to a fitness magazine. I just don't know which one to buy.

I have been working out exclusively in a gym, and plan on taking up running outdoors when winter lets up.

I'm looking for something that focuses on fitness and health, and NOT on beauty at all. I want a magazine that offers all or mostly exercise advice, though I don't mind a little bit of info on nutrition. Finally, I dislike magazines that have a couple of helpful articles but are mostly full of ads and "articles" which serve as advertisements.

Maybe it's a tall order, but there has to be something out there! Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!

Good question. I'm assuming you've perused through the magazine section at your local bookstore?

You may probably find better info on the web. there are personal trainer websites that you can subscribe to with boatloads of fitness plans, nutrition plans and support groups. Of course at a monthly or annual fee but most likely cheaper than a fitness trainer.

Good luck on your search! If you come across a certain magazint let me know!

I would save your money. The web has so much more information. Women's fitness magazines are the same every month and don't have a lot of 'fitness' in my opinion. It's all how to walk to get in shape, how to do a couple of sit ups and how to 'diet' without dieting. I agree with Grasshopper, trainer websites are the way to go.

Totally agree with SP. Subscriptions are a waste of time when you've got literally EVERYTHING at your fingertips online.

I'm currently using the loseit website to track my nutrition and exercise. I love it. You can add friends on there too. If you end up doing it, leave your email address on my wall and I'll add you. (Then I'll delete your email addy off my wall).

You can find anything you'd ever need on the web.

I've never seen any decent fitness magazines - they all seem to be about losing weight and attaining the perfect body rather than actual health and fitness. They also tend to feature heaps of adverts and I'd bet that any products they feature are simply adverts too, as opposed to an honest opinion of the product.
