My fiancee mentioned to me while sitting on his lap the other day that I have a boney butt. I understand how that can be, I am 5'3 and weigh 97lbs. I am currently weight lifting and trying to put on a little weight. Can anyone give advise to not have such a boney butt!!

    Yep!

Stand in front of a box, a bench or a step that is approx. 18 " tall, Grasp a dumbell in each hand. Then in one continuous motion, step up onto the box with one foot and raise the other foot from the ground all the way up until that knee is about chest height (like you're high stepping in marching band). The higher the knee goes the better. Now step down off of the box, bench or step and repeat with the other side. That's one rep. Try to do at least 10 reps.

Hint: The farther/higher up you extend each knee, in one smooth motion from ground to "high step", the more it works the glutes. So really get it up there and feel that pull/stretch.

I have a 'bony butt' as well, so my question is how many months does this need to be done before the muscle builds up enough so that I can sit on my bf's lap and not have him go "ooooofffff your butt bone is pushing into me again dear".

Unfortunately...ugh! It takes quite a while for your glutes to grow. Can't say exactly how long since we are all different, have different diets, lifestyles, etc.

I too was once the President and CEO of the Boney Butt Club and have been working for quite sometime on improving my buttocks. Just the other day, my SO said "your butt looks bigger compared to where it use to be"....Ahhhhh! All that work has paid off!

    Now I have a "bigger butt"...thanks honey!

Note: There are many exercises that incorporate the glutes (muscles in your butt) and it is nearly impossible to focus on one particular muscle or muscle group. The exercise I attempted to describe above is one that focuses on the glutes first and incoprorates other muscles too.

Lunges, squats and leg presses are also quite good for the glutes.

See the problem is that whole work things....I do not like it. I am one of the hundreds of millions that would like something quick and not remember to do some exercises for 6 months just to see if something happens. Working out is a pain, a bother, a nuisance to me personally even if it is a quick maybe 5-10 minute single routine a day. It is just getting up and actually doing it that prevents me from doing it. And yet I know it is not quick if I want a bit more meat on the back cheeks, and labs have not come up with "muscle-be-here" pills yet. Ugh dumb.

No thanks. I do not even gain weight from eating like a pig so I cannot rely on body fat to fill around the bones lol. My research takes precedence not buying weights and using them....well at least for now.

    Got Milk?

A gallon of milk or water weighs about 8 pounds.

    Got a chair?

Step up on the seat of a chair.

    Workout under way! Yippee!

Thank you Seeker_Advice, I am definitly gonna start doing that during my workouts. I don't really care how long it takes to start seeing results as long as its under a year and I do eventually see them, and my fiancee feels them ;P
