I've been thinking of doing some other types of workouts and see which I like best. I have been using a webbsite to get workouts off of, but they don't seem to be working for me. So, I thought about Zumba. My concern is that I'll buy, but I won't get results. I was wondering, does anyone here use Zumba, or have tried it? Did it work, or was it a total flop?

It works great! I went to Zumba classes at the gym, but the DVD's are just fine as well!

...However, as with anything exercise-related, it is up to the person doing it to get as much out of it as possible.

It's been a bit.. I've been mostly focused on my running lately but Zumba was working great for me. I used both the Wii version and the DVDs. Afterwards I had the impression that I'd actually worked out harder than I felt liked I had. Very odd but satisfying feeling.

Never used any of the Zumba dvd's so can't comment on them, but the actual classes are fantastic - imo the best thing to ever happen to exercise!

I keep reading about this, but have never heard of it. Can someone explain what type of workout this is? It sounds like a dance.

Yes it is a dancing style workout. It's like a fusion of loads of different types of dances, but all of the moves are easy enough to learn and designed to get your heart pumping too.

I think the reason it's so good is because you get better at it each time you go. Even though the moves are relatively easy, perfecting them is not so easy, so each time you do it you're getting that little bit better. It's this challenge and progression that makes it so much more fun that usual aerobics or the like.

Thanks. I wish I had the space to do something like that at home. I'm a little shy about working out in public. It sounds like a lot of fun though. Maybe I can clear out a nice area in the garage.
