Default Need help losing 2-3% body fat

I really need some advice. I am about 5ft 3in, 120-123 lbs, and 21.6% body fat, however I have a small frame and would prefer to have an athletic body fat percentage of 18-20%. I have a lot of fat built up in the inner/outer thigh area and stomach, worst of all above the belly button fat (that will not seem to go away). I have been eating about 1200-1400 cals a day and getting atleast 120g-140g protein a day. My workout routine consists of cardio ~5 days and moderate weight training 3 days. However, I have failed to make any progress in a while... I thought about running 5 mornings and going down a little in weight while increasing the reps (this will allow me to run, right now I cant run for cardio because I stay to fatigued from lifting). Any advice on if this is a good idea or another alternative??? I wonder if I am missing something?

Do a Google search about P90-X. It should give you a lot of options. I have my own copy of it and I can choose how moderate or challenging my routine could be. It consists of cardio, weight training, flexibility, balance and agility training (kenpo - American martial arts, yoga, pilates, etc.). Check it out and hope you'll like it. It also goes with a recipe book which has options for you if you workout hard or moderately or is you are "sedentary".

look into high-intensity interval training or tabata training. this will kick start things and ensure a net-negative daily caloric intake. good luck!

I think intervals and P90X would be good for you. If you're already on a fitness routine, it wouldn't be such a shock to switch it up to something more intense.

Thanks everyone! I will try the intervals and P90x... it sounds like a good way to mix it up

Do a google search for STS by Cathe Friedrich. It is similar to P90X but I enjoyed it more and got great results.

You should add incline bench press and incline skating.
Inline skating helps to burn 425 calories in thirty minutes.
    Thanks

Definitely ramp up your intensity. Your body is probably getting used to the workouts you have been doing, plus running for distance isn't going to help you drop body fat very quickly. Include some sprint workouts twice a week and do your strength training on alternate days (full body workouts) if you find that you're too tired. You want to be able to have an intense workout, not necessarily long in duration.
