Default Exercise Tips for a New Diet?

    Hi,

I am starting a new diet and hoping to lose around 10-15 pounds. I usually do some form of cardio for 30 minutes at least once a day but is there anything else I could be doing to help speed up my diet?

    Thanks!

There's no way to really "lose weight quick" (unless of course you have huge amounts of weight to lose in the first place).

It just takes some hard work and dedication. What nutritional changes are you going to be making?

A good blend of cardio, calithetics, and strength training should be all you need to drop any excess weight. Running, biking, interval training, lunges, squats, crunches, pushups, jumprope, swimming, etc, etc - the sky is the limit! Just get out there and get moving for at least 30 minutes a day!

And make sure you're drinking plenty of water

Keeping your metabolism "high" is the "key" to successful weight loss. That and making appropriate lifestyle changes.

The way to keep your metabolism "high" is to eat several balanced smaller meals throughout your day rather than the "three square" meals most of us are use to.

A complex carbohydrate, a healthy fat and a protein = a meal. Do this 4 - 6 times each day and consume plenty of water. Your body weight divided by two should be your goal in ounces of water. Nothing after 8 PM...nothing. If you do, you may disturb your normal sleep pattern which may lead to more caloric consumption.

Stay away from sweet drinks and those that are artificially sweetend too. "Diet" soda is not much better than regular soda since it is designed by chemists to trick your brain (Look it up).

We lose way more weight away from any gym, during our day and night, then we do when we are sweating our backsides off in the gym.

Best of luck! (Luck = Where preparation meets opportunity)

Strength training (weights) in addition to cardio will help. The more muscle you have, the more calories you'll burn at rest. Also, "sneak" in exercise whenever you can, i.e., stairs, parking further away, etc.
