Towards the end of last year I thought I would have a wee dabble at running-well slow jogging actually! Although goodness knows why. I have absolutely hated running all my life and always came in the back of the bunch in those ghastly school athletics! But away I went setting small goals for a start.
I really surprized myself because I found myself loving it and before long was regularly jogging 7kms 2 or 3 times per week. Well those small goals got overtaken by visions of grandeur and I set my sight on the 6km surf to city fun run.
And then, after a wonderful overseas trip I came home with a horrible bug! Oh no, there goes my dream I thought as after 3 weeks I still wasn't any better.
But miracles still do sometimes happen and for the past 2 weeks I have been up and running again. AND the fun run is in 38hours!!!!
By golly folks, if an oldie like me can do it, all you young things have got absolutely no excuse for not trying your hand at something.

congrats snooks.... i am soooooo proud of you. that must make you feel just amazing. i have been going to zumba and there is a wonderful lady there who is 68 and she is better at it than me. her endurance level is just amazing. it just goes to show that age is just a number. you can be healthy and active for a long time if you eat the proper nutrition and exercise regularly. be sure to update us on how it goes. good luck!!!!!!

Very Inspiring!!! I will set my goal to run at least 2km starts tomorrow then I will add some more when I used to running I don't love running to but it is inspiring that older than me can run like that and enjoying running!!! I like that,
