I want to get into exercising again but I don?t have the money to join a gym (the gyms around here are pretty pricey). I?m just looking to get toned and maybe lose a few pounds, nothing extreme. Is there any kind of routine that might work best for me?

Have you thought about using work out videos? I've heard good stuff about them and I'm sure there's one out there that interests you.

The workout videos are not very expensive and they last forever, those are a good idea. Also, you can do walking, doesnt have to be in the gym, swimming, bicycle riding etc all those are cardio workouts.

If your looking to exercise and find that gym are too expensive you can consider doing body weight exercises, such as squats, lunges, using stair cases, push ups, and dozens of more exercises that you can either do outdoors (which is free to use or in the privacy of your own home without any equiptment. If your consistent you'll be able to see results within 2 - 4 weeks.

Oh...pilates and yoga dvd's are awesome for toning up and for strength and flexability...power walking is always good too if you have a safe place to do it! I joined netflix awhile back and i would get workout dvds through them and do them until i got bored...then get new ones...you can keep the dvds for weeks before returning them...just a thought...good luck to you!
