Please help, I need some bright ideas, after the birth of my son, managed to drop from size 14 to size 12 (due to long stay in hospital, which is perfect for me and not complaining), but can not get rid of bulgy tummy, tend to walk alot for exercise. Going to the gym is totally out of question becos I am a single mum. Any bright ideas please.

Its great that you are trying to tighten up your abs for the summer. That's probably what I should be doing too! I finally went to the pool today for the first time this summer and I felt uncomfortable. However, last summer my stomach was nice and toned. I ran a lot and used one of those 10 minute ab videos. You might want to start out with just 5 minutes and increase to 10. I found this to be the most effective for me. Some of these videos are kinda fun and time goes by fast. If you do it every day, your abs will be toned in no time. If you find a video you like, let me know. I've been thinking about buying a new one!!

Just because you are a single mom does not mean you can't make it to a gym in most areas. Most gyms have a daycare center so you can work out. Also, gym memberships at some gyms are pretty low. Mine is $20 a month without a contract. However, if this is still not an option, there are easy ways to get in some exercise. When you take your son to the park, play with him. Get on the swings for example. Most of the problems with a tummy is the fat over it. Without cardio, the fat is still there and the muscle won't show. You could do a thousand crunches a day, but if there is fat over the muscle you won't have the definition you want. Do crunches everyday. Set a time and make it a habit. I suggest when you wake up and before you go to bed. When they get easier, add some weight while you are doing them. I hope this helped!

Leg lifts work the best for me... Second to that would be reverse crunches... (Hands by your head, touch elbow to opposite knee... keep your back straight!)

Clean out all your ! Literally, clean out your colon, in some cases people lose between 5-25 lbs or more just on this. It really varies on the amount of times you do it, some go as far as 15 times..but it works! Its amazing how much you can lose lol maybe thats why they came up with "youre full of " They're not lying!

I use an exercise ball everyday. I bought it at Target for not very much. I do push ups and sit ups using the ball and have seen a big difference. My 2 and 4 year old girls and I take turns on it so it is something we can do together. I also play soccer, tennis, run, do squats all with my kids. We do it together. Also, biggest thing that has changed my life is to completely cut out soda!!!! I now drink water and twice a day I add a vita C suppliment to my water. hope this helps

I had a baby 7 months ago and I have the same problem. I bought the ab lounge machine and it's really working. I've tried just about every ab exercise with little or no results. I can see some results after just two weeks using this machine.

i too need to get my tummy down. I go to the gym "Curves" and the trainer there told me if you have fat in your tummy just doing situps and crunches wont tone it up, first you have to do cardio excersise(walking, running, swimming, jugging, even house work!) so it can melt the fat. Continue doing the situps and crunches but dont forget the cardio, its very important!

okay so i dont have to much on my tummy but i do have some. it makes me wonder how anyone can have such a tone tummy that they have nothing there at all! it can really get depressing but i have found a few ways of toning that flaby gross tummy!

one way is to use that ab lounger everybody has been talking about. i have one and it is wonderful but sometimes i dont want to do it so i have a couple other ways so i can switch back and forth to keep me interested!

the 2nd way is to when running to do stuff at the same time! like when i run (which is more of a jog) i keep my legs higher. (like in the army when they march/run). it takes a little bit more work but i find it very helpful! doing stuff to target my tummy area! then when i get home i do some sit-ups and crunchs.

my last thing is to work my workout into my day! i know everyone says this but everything can be worked into cleaning the house or going to work! like if i was going to clean the house i would get out a timer and turn some music on and get out my workout stuff and cleaning supplies! alot i know but everything has to get done at some point! then i would set my timer for 5 minutes and clean! another 5 minutes and workout! if your going to work and cant exactly get away like that then i would do 15 minutes or so in the morning (if possible 5-10 during break) and another 15 at night! or leave some wieghts at your work and lift wieghts or do sit-ups while reading some of your papers! and if you dont have an office job then you should already be moving during the day so just add alittle something extra to it!

i hope i have helped in some kind of way!
