Some people excercise twice a day but it can get very tiring after a while, then you might just quit excercising at all. If you have fat on your stomach area you wont see much results, you have to do lots of cardio to burn that fat. If you dont then maybe you need to increase how many times you do the situps.

Agreed with patricias. What does your program look like? Cardio is definitely one of the important elements to losing bodyfat and seeing your abs (they are there, just covered by fat). I work with target heart rate zones but I did what was called a VO2Submax test at a health club (just did the test at the club only and am not a member, actually prefer running outdoors) to determine these zones more accurately than the 220 minus your age formula. This lets me know at which heart rate I should be training in to burn mostly fat for energy (this zone for me is 129-140beats per minute). I work in this zone for 45 mins 4 days/week.

Diet is the second key and is definitely beyond the scope of my post, but rule of thumb determine your resting metabolic rate (the amount of calories your body would need just to stay alive if you were to sit in a chair for the entire day and do absolutely nothing) and then try not to consume calories above that number (my metabolic rate is 1650cals/day and I consume no more than 1400cals/day).

I also supplement with lots of water and one particular diet pill supplement that has worked pretty much **** good and IMO better than any other that I have tried before (though it does leave me with a bit of a dry mouth ). I've lost about 24lbs in 8 weeks. I do abs only once per day, four days per week. I'm seeing my upper abs and obliques. The lower ones could come out more though so working on it.

Genetics and our gender plays an important part in this too. We gals tend to distribute around our lower abs, hips and thighs. All part of natures grand conspiracy to make us carry on the human species. Lots of science involved but it can be done sipho. Just need to know some basics and the tricks as well (think those figure competitors get that sculpted look for 60 sec abs??).
