Hello,
I would like to know if somebody has tried the p90x workout (TV) I go to the gym 5 times a week. ( by reading the threads I just found out that 5 times a week is not good....) since my hubby is about to go to iraq, and my little boy doesn't like to stay at the gym daycare I was thinking about the P90X dvd. I would love to continue doing my workout, but I never really hear women talking about it and now I was wondering if they not made for women? I only see one women talking about it on TV. Googled a lot, but just hear men talking and they already say it's hard. I do bootcamp, cycle n'abs, kickboxing at the gym since Jan.08 |

I started the p90x system about a month ago and I love it! I have been seeing huge results in a short amount of time which is great for me because I live a very busy lifestyle. Some of the workouts are a little overwhelming at first, but it's worth the effort!! Just do whatever you are comfortable with in the beginning... it's better to only do half of a workout than to struggle through it and hurt yourself.
I altered my workout by increasing my reps. and decreasing the weights (just hit "pause" and hammer out a few more reps!) so I could get the tone and not the mass. I can't say enough good things about the diet plan either! The portions are very generous so I'm never hungry throughout the day... lots of chicken, fish, and steak and plenty of fun recipes! If you do end up trying it, let me know what you think!! |

My husband and I just started the P90X program. I love the workout, but hate the diet. I am doint the Fat Shedder - Level 1 and my husband is doing level 2. I have cannot begin to finish all of the food on my plate, therefore a lot of food is getting wasted. Some of the recipes tend to make me feel a bit sick at my stomach. I need a simple diet that doesn't take much thought due to our busy lifestyles. Am I doing something wrong? Any suggestions? Thanks

I started the P90x and it's great, I absolutely love it. I was stuck in my routine and I have to say, it's only been a week and a half and I am seeing some great results already.
As for the diet, it's a great diet if you already eat a lot, but I agree, the portion sizes are a bit rediculous, men and women do not eat the same amount! I eat clean, I have a very strict diet and it works great with this program. In the beginning they are really basically upping your lean protein intake, so if you are finding that the portion sizes are too big, just remember that. Eating clean is easy, and the other thing is, eat often and don't have your biggest meal at the end of the day. Protien, protien, protien! If you are at all interested in this, the woman that inspired me writes about eating clean, her name is Tosca Reno. The idea is very simple. The p90x diet is good, makes sense, but just realize what each phase is trying to promote, right now it's less carbs and more lean protien. |

I love the P90X. I'm in the military and in boot camp they are now introducing this system. The muscle confusion workout you get from it is GREAT! I highly recommend it.

ok, i am totally new here. finished my third day of the program, and though i think i could strangle tony, i am totally dedicated. i am a lite jogger, and generally keep a pretty low-cal vegetarian diet, but have incorporated veggie burgers and tuna fish to help me out there.
i have a question, for anyone who has experienced success with this. did you experience nausea when you started? i threw up on day 1, and my tummy's been a little shaky during workouts both today and yesterday. any thoughts? |

Spotter, firstly look at the date of the thread 2008.... so they won't be replying as they never returned, and last post was January ( left hand side tells you) .
Most pills will stuff your mind, body, shakes, for instance, etc. I don't get why you take them full stop. Our mind is so powerful, get yourself together and tell yourself you "CAN" becuase you can, the pills are trying to trick your mind into feeling mellow, up-set, can't think, don't want.... Nothing positive about that rather a depressent style approach to not "wanting" what so you can then think positive whoo hoo? I can do this? That's the aim, the goal, remember that. Can you think positive yourself? Ask for the right advise about doing what it is your trying to achieve and actually believing in yourself that you can? That's the bottom line... Without PILLS. DRUGS... Na, not anit drugs in-case you think so, i am positive and so i do mostly.... CW

for anyone else who is curious, the research i've done on this makes it seem like a fairly natural reaction for the stomach to kind of "give up" digestion during a time of great muscle confusion to increase bloodflow to the extremities. for the stomach to do this, it just makes itself sick, and thereby heightens the oxygen flow to your limbs. it makes perfect sense, cellularly. and everything has gotten easier on my stomach now that i make sure to put something in it about an hour before working the video. |
