Hi! I've been planning to do a nose surgery. I've got a nasal hump. It's been difficult for me at times to breathe. I've decided to go for a surgery at Dr. Kreidstein's clinic in Toronto. I'm a working woman, so I cannot take off for so many days. I cannot spend too much time taking rest at home. I'm pretty much concerned regarding the recovery time. None of my relative or friend has gone through this. Hence, I do not exactly know how long it would take to recover. I can take a maximum of 3-4 days off. And I've read in somewhere that in some surgeries it may even take lesser than that. Is it so?

Well Dawn, everyone heals up differently. But I had a pretty simple nasal surgery to open up my nasal passages. This took me a week to recover from. So you going to be pushing the healing time thinking you can recover faster then 3 or 4 days with the surgery you are having by removing a nasal bump. Well I hope it all go's very smoothly for you and you heal up very quickly Dawn....
When out driving always turn left. Then, should you become lost, you can find your way home by reversing the procedure and always turning right.

Rhinoplasty is the surgery for you. But as you say you can take only 3-4 days off. But it may take more days to recover. If you can take some more days off to office then go for this surgery.

If at all possible, say you have weekends off. Try to have the surgery on a thursday or friday. Anyway you can work it so that you don't have to use as many days off.

Look! If you are really concerned about your nose , then you must manage to take more leaves because you can't manage to recover in two or three days. It will take at least ten to fifteen days. People will say to you that you can recover in two or three days but the fact is, you need more days

Yes I totally agree with Mathew Steve that it has a prolonged recovery period. You have to extend your leave from work till such time as you are able to resume your normal duties. Exerting yourself can lead to complications.

What you need is to see a rhinoplasty specialist. You wouldn't want an inexperienced surgeon to agree to place a huge implant in your nose that will look unnatural or might cause some problems in the future. If you are in Manila one good surgeon I can recommend is Dr Rino Lorenzo who did my nose a couple of years ago. I like Dr Lorenzo because he was very accommodating and answered all my questions enthusiastically. I think he has a website too.

Yeah even I think you need a rhinoplasty specialist and shouldn’t go with just any other doc claiming to be an expert. My cousin took his treatment from one of specialists for and is quite relieved. I think it is very important to choose a highly reputed doctor.

The length of surgery depends on the experience of your surgeon, and the amount of work that may need to be performed. Revision rhinoplasty is nearly always longer due to the complex nature of revisional surgery. Regarding your choice of surgeon, A lot of African-Americans travel Manila for vacation and cosmetic surgery because of the medical services provided in Manila can rival the best in the world. Also there are a lot of expert Filipino surgeons who specializes in rhinoplasty. One top surgeon I can recommend is Dr Rino Lorenzo who did my nose some years ago. I like the good doctor because he was very accommodating and answered all my questions enthusiastically.

Rhinoplasty (Greek: Rhinos, "Nose" + Plassein, "to shape") is one of the most common cosmetic plastic surgeries performed worldwide and in India also. In fact, Rhinoplasty had its origin in ancient India by Sushruta, sage physician of 1500 B.C and the father of Indian Plastic surgery. You can consult with our Rhinoplasty surgeon at

I don't know any technical information but I hope your nose op goes well. I would like a nose operation but for vanity purposes. Anyhow, you've been given some great advice. Good luck.

I have been dreaming to make a Rhinoplasty all my life. I am not happy with the shape of my nose. I am married and have a daughter, my husband does not care about my nose and says i do not need any Rhinoplasty. Should I make it or not?
