Default Tattoo?!

I'm usually not that fond of tattoos [probably because the ones Ive seen are these big, massive, skulls or huge dragons all across a person's back or going all down the arms..] However, for the longest time I've been wanting to get a little tattoo [about 1 cm] of a snowflake. Keep in mind that I'm still young and I don't want anything that gets in the way of job hunting or professionalism, which is why I only want it about 1 cm big. Now my problem is; I'm not sure where I want it. I need your opinions.

1- On the left arm, where it bends.. On the inside.. Like when you let your arm hang loose; the part [near the elbow] that touches your ribs. Does that make sense? I don't know how else to explain it.

2- Where the left hand meets the wrist; under the thumb [about 1 or 2 cm. below it just so it doesn't look deformed when I bend or move my wrist].

3- The inside [right side] of the left knee. It would be facing up if I cross my legs.

4- Left foot; right between the ankle and the heel. On the inside [right side] of the leg.

Those are my options right now in order of personal preference, but I would love to get people's honest opinions about it. Oh and I'm not too sure if I made myself clear on the places where I want them so if you're a little confused or can't picture it, let me know and I'll try to describe it better.

Thoughts, anyone?

Perfectly described.....

If I was ever to have one, I would go for the ankle, it's sexy I think as well...

You could go for the back of the neck and struggle to ever see it haha.. joke.

The ankle; Inside or outside?

Well personally, i would put it at the back of the ankle that's where I've seen them and it looks sexy in my opinion...

Have you decided on what sort? Maybe you can list a few ideas there as well if you haven't decided.

For instance, for me I would go with a chinese proverb that only i knew what it said, that mean't something positive and was a talking point for people as well...

It's gonna be a snowflake, and yes it has a significance to it :]

Now, the back of the ankle.. Is that literally on the back of the foot? As in above the back of the heel? Or do you mean on the outside [left side] of the left ankle, just a little behind it?

Isn't this about the time that you wish you could post photos or make drawings?

Either... Not that, that helps you much but i would either have it on the inside left, or right at the back at the end of the heel, probably the left would be my pref...

That sounds very pretty.
My advice would be to get it the size that you want it. Tattoos are very common place now and something like a snowflake on your leg won't matter in the work world.
Have you considered behind your ear? A friend of mine has tattoos behind both ears and they are very pretty and you can only see them if she ties her hair up.

Now I'm confused!!
I was driving earlier today and I had the radio on and there was this talk show type of thing where they were talking about tattoos and how they jinxed relationships. For example, if someone gets the name of their boyfriend or girlfriend tattooed somewhere on their body, usually they end up breaking up for good and then they're stuck with a name on their body for the rest of their life. I don't want that. A snowflake isn't anyone's name, but it is symbolic. I don't know if any of you remember the guy whom I was bummed out about? I called him snowflake and it just kinda stuck. Besides, they're really pretty! Anyway, there are rumors that he is coming back soon, real soon, but so far I see no signs. I mean we both go to the same university but I havnt talked to him much [but there are so many rumors that idk whether or not to believe] Point is!! Snowflakes are pretty, I want one because it means something AND because its pretty but I wouldnt want to jinx anything..

MissGoddess...

If you want a tatt, then you should get one. If you want a snowflake, then a snowflake it should be.

I have a couple of tatts myself. I'm an older, fairly conservative, professional type person and my tatts both have very special meaning to me. Here's my advice to you (and anyone else considering getting a tatt):

1) Once you decide on what you "think" you want in terms of design and size, cut it out and place it all over your body in places you think it would be attractive to you. Once you've sort of decided on a spot, then take a sharpie or pen of some sort and draw it in place. Leave it for a few days...don't scrub it off unless you KNOW it's not where you want it.
2) NOW...do this exercise EVERY month for a year! If you're still happy with the design, size and placement after a year, then you NEED TO GET IT!!!!!!!!
3) If your tatt doesn't stand the test of time as mentioned above, you don't want it enough.

The reason I mention this is because in the case of my 2nd tatt...if I would have done what I mentioned above, I would have done it just a tiny bit different. Well the procedure above is designed to eliminate that possibility.

My neice got a tatt when she was 18. She was considering getting it all of the places you are considering. In the end, she got it on her right hip where it could be covered up by even something as small as a bikini. She did this because being 18, she doesn't know what her life is going to be like. She doesn't know if this tatt will be appropriate 10, 20, 30, 40 years from now. She got the tatt because SHE WANTED IT, not because she wanted others to see it. If she wants them to see it, she'll show it to them and if not, then she doesn't.

This worked very well for her. May not be your objective though. In any event, just make sure that what you get is what you want!

Cheers and Good Luck!

Funny thing; I've been drawing a little snowflake on [option 1] the inside of my left arm, where it bends. Except it's not exactly where it bends because then it looks sort of deformed. As I was saying, I've been drawing a little snoflake on there since longer than I can remember and I love it. I've done it in pen, regular marker, and sharpie. Right now it's there with green sharpie. Kind of faded since I took a shower not too long ago, so I'm about to re-draw it. But yeah, I really like it there and I think that's where I'm going to get it. It's not that visible unless I wak around with my arm twisted all the way lol
I'm kinda nervous though. It's my first. Does it hurt?
